Causes: Child Abuse Prevention, Crime & Law, Domestic Violence, Family Services for Adolescent Parents, Human Services
Mission: Support & strengthen families through counseling, coaching, and training.
Programs: Family support program provided in-home parent coaching to 110 families (125 parents and 217 children). Of the 74 families who closed, 70 (95%) demonstrated improved parent-child interactions, strengthening the parent-child relationship and reducing challenging behavior. In addition 32 foster parents were provided workshops that benefited them and reduced the risk of placement disruption.
parenting of adolescents provided 56 families of multi-dimensional family therapy. 93% had a decrease in risky behaviors, 100% of families reported an increase in positive family functions, 78% of youth and families completed services with successful or satisfactory completion.
the early childhood outreach (echo) program provided support to 70 families (70 children, 126 parents and 126 child care providers) of children with challenging behavior in their classrooms. 96% were in stable childcare at the end of the echo program and 87%* improved on a measure of their social emotional development. 16 child care professionals from 7 classrooms received seminars and coaching to help them implement strategies to promote social and emotional development: 100% of teachers implemented new strategies which promote childrens development and positive behavior of the children in their classrooms. In addition, echo provided workshops to 285 child care providers to develop their knowledge of early childhood development and best practices.
