With the addition of programs such as the mobile maker van, expanded teen services and increased services for adult literacy, we continue to strenghten library programs and services for the benefit of every eugene resident. We are pleased to continue to provide support for services that encourage life-long learning for all, regardless of socio-economic status.
the imagination library continues to be well received in eugene. Through an ongoing partnership with the library, 4,507 children received free books during the 2017-2018 fiscal year. Each child received a monthly mailing of one book. The books came to their home address with their name on it at the average rate of 2. 10 per book. Total annual cost for mailing the books was 91,702. The dollywood foundation estimates that there are almost 8,000 eligible preschool-aged children in the city of eugene. We continue to work on increasing the number of children we serve as our funding increases.
