Mission: Education about energy and its benefits to the american people and advocacy for access to energy.
Programs: 1) education about energy and its benefits to the american public. Explains to the public how various sources of energy, their relative abundance, cost, uses, and pertinent laws and regulations affect the individual, the family, employment, business and industrial strength, and american security, in order to help the public make sound policy decisions. This activity will begin as soon as the organization receives its exempt status as a 501(c)(4) organization. This educational activity, which will occupy about 60% of the executive director's time, will be conducted by marita noon (executive director) from the albuquerque, new mexico-based offices of citizens alliance for responsible energy, a 501(c)(3) exempt organization. 2) advocacy for access to energy. Actively promote and support all types of energy production, including fossil fuels, nuclear, wind, solar, geothermal. Hydroelectric, and other energy sources, in public forums, in legislative debates, and in both direct and grass roots lobbying for appropriate energy policies to benefit the american public. This advocacy may include support for or opposition to legislation dealing with government land use, drilling and mining policy, government subsidies or penalties affecting energy producers and consumers, and administrative rules and regulations affecting american consumers and members of our organization. We anticipate that litigation may be necessary to properly advocate for access to energy in circumstances where legislation and administrative action are inadequate. This activity will begin as soon as the organization receives its exempt status as a 501(c)(4) organization. This advocacy activity, which will occupy about 40% of the executive director's time, will be conducted by marita noon (executive director) from the albuquerque, new mexico-based offices of citizens alliance for responsible energy, a 501(c)(3) exempt organization. 3) priorities for access to energy: the organization plans to provide telephone conference calls with energy experts to explain issues of importance to a wide public; to operate a web site with credible energy-related information and advocacy; to conduct speaker forums with guest experts in public venues; to produce and disseminate video advocacy messages; to publish reports on legislative actions, administrative actions and other policy documents designed to enhance public understanding; to gain public support for abundant, affordable energy for america.
