Beware of their auto-renew policy. They don’t even send an email, just take the money. My son had already graduated (he’s 20). No refund when I explained that my son had already graduated. Subscription scam for sure. Poor materials and no curriculum. The employees are not non profit, they value $$ over people.

We had a truly terrible experience with this agency. Our review is based on our experience with LeAnne and our treatment by her, not the outcome of our disrupted adoption. We are also still uncertain as to whether or not we have been scammed.<br><br>We were potential adoptive parents in 2022 when we heard about an expectant mother situation via Facebook. We sent in our home study and information to LeAnne , who ended up being our main point of contact at the agency. We were told we were selected by the expectant mother within 2 weeks and that the baby was due within 6 weeks. Once selected, we were told we had to send the agency $25,000 - and that this was nonrefundable. We were adamant about speaking to the expectant mother or having some way of verifying that she existed and indeed did select us. We weren't given that and moved forward on a leap of faith, as we were desperate and vulnerable. A week later we scheduled a call with the expectant mother (extremely complicated to schedule and very poor communication from the agency) and she was unwilling to chat or acknowledge that she selected us to be her baby's parents. We were told that this is normal and we moved forward in the uncertainty. Flash forward to two weeks later where we were told to fly to Texas the same day as the mother was in labor. We were able to get there within 8 hours and arrived the the hospital where we were told within an hour that the birth mother had changed her mind. The agency was in Lubbock and we were near Houston. The agency supposedly had a freelance consultant in Houston, but we never met her. All of this was a fear for us, and we knew that this could happen. Over the next 6 days, we were told daily that the mother could change her mind and that we should stay in town. Over the next few days, the attitude, behavior and communication style changed from somewhat pleasant to aggressive. We were told that our Texas background checks hadn't come in and that, if the mother changed her mind, the baby could be in foster/cradle care for months, and "don't worry, you should still be able to have visits." We were able to find the main point of contact in Texas that handles the interstate transfer of children, and she verified that this is not true. Our other Texas agency verified that this was not true. We called LeAnne to ask about this and were screamed at. I have never been spoken to that way in a work setting before. Having paid $25k already and signing a contract essentially gave us no recourse or any incentive for the agency to speak to us in an understanding or kind manor.<br><br>We feel that when potential adoptive parents are in a new place, awaiting an important life decision, and feeling highly emotional, you hope that the main point of contact at the adoption agency would guide you with compassion. We were spoken to like we were in the wrong line at the DMV, and now over a year later, we still feel like we were taken advantage of.

I got in Lubbock Habitat for Humanity program to hopefully get an affordable quality home to own. Overall is a good program but if I could do it all over again I wouldn’t. The space is very very small, I have 4 small bedrooms (all that fits is a twin size bed and 1 dresser) 1 small hallway closet and 4 children. In my contract states I would have a storage I’ve been here 3 years and still waiting on the storage. I have to keep my lawn equipment in my kitchen. The front and backyard are very small also not much room for the kids to play or for the dogs. I thought by having volunteers and myself building the house it would go towards keeping the cost of the house down, but that was not the case. I had volunteers build and cheaper materials used, but once house was built an appraiser came in to have it appraised not considering the cost. I had volunteer offer to give me a deal on granite countertops and was told I could not because it was a deal only given to myself not every other home owner. Now going forward other owners are able to accept offers only offered to individuals not the entire program. I feel I settled and was lied to and had I would’ve known this information before accepting the program I would’ve made a different choice. I feel this is better for someone without kids.

I fled to the shelter from New Mexico with my four-year-old daughter. A few days into our stay we were locked between two security gates. Finally we were let back into facility but the office was vacated. At some point a staff member ran outside frantically and announced that there was an intruder on site and directed clients to barricade in our quads. Hours later, I was met by two Lubbock police officers entering my quad. One asked me my name and arrested me. All he would say was the warrant was for felony assault. They wouldn't say anything more. They refused to allow me to arrange for care of my child. They refused to tell me where my daughter would be going. All they would say was arrangements for my daughter had already been made. The warrant was a NM misdomenor, it was a tactic used to obtain my daughter, but I was held with no bond, no access to a judge, classified as a felony. <br> I was completely railroaded at this "shelter". My daughter who was completely in my soul custody was transported without my knowledge or consent to New Mexico. I was held without bond on a felony charge of assault. NM Cyfd orchestrated the event with WPS from my home state NM. No bond, no judge. 18 days later I finally saw a judge at an extradition hearing in Lubbock. I pled to the judge that I had written both states trying to locate my child with no success and no response. It took the judge 5 hours and two attorney generals to locate my child. She was a ghost child in the system. I was immediately released from custody .NM CYFD quickly removed themselves from the situation, CONVENIENTLY, AFTER they used their authority (without a case) to help obtain physical custody of my daughter. It has since become a matter of money. I'm at a complete loss. I have no access to legal representation. The matter has been moved into district court. I have never had opportunity to attend because the trickery involved in this situation is never-ending. I surrendered myself in New Mexico and waiting my arrangement a hearing was held without my knowledge, one dirty tactic after another. There are no programs to assist someone in my position. $3500 to retain counsel. My state offers absolutely no help. I have been denied complete access to my daughter. No Christmas, no birthday, no phone calls. I have been accused of being a drug user but not given the opportunity to drug test. My daughter has never been away from me before. I have not seen her in over a year. WPS never once even considered this to be a tactic for an abuser (with money and connections) to obtain a child, but that is exactly what it was. WPS lied to me, misled me and assisted in my false arrest. These people aided in exactly the opposite of what they claim to stand for. Please beware of this place.

Wouldn't recommend this place if it was my last option. Rude and unhelpful.

This organization focuses on helping those with any type of disability, focusing on those with intellectual and developmental disabilities. It is ran by an Executive Director and a team of board members whose main concern is the well being and happiness of the individual. Every decision is made with the individuals in mind, and the vision of Marian Moss is shared by all the staff.

I served on the National Board of Camp Fire, but before that I was a kid who was 10 years old in 5th grade. At that time I attended Camp Fire regularly after school at Chugach Optional in Anchorage Alaska (both my parents worked). The staff of Camp Fire encouraged me to explore programming. Eventually they allowed me to go back into the school during Camp Fire where I would get on the old computers and learn programming. <br><br>I probably spent hundreds of hours programming in BASIC and finding my spark for software development. I went on to do many things with technology and always was thankful to Camp Fire for getting me started. <br><br>It was an honor to be able to serve on the National Board of Trustees 20 years later and give back some of my time and funds to an organization that gave me so much. As they say in camp fire #WOHELO (Work Health Love)!<br>

I would like to help feed others and vollenter to make sure the have covers I nevered vollenter to feed others I won't to make sure they have enough food

This organization knows how to use donations for the greatest impact! It's a great place to sow into something bigger than one person and to be a part of LONG-TERM impact in the livest of young people!

Lubbock, TX is 350 miles from any other cities of any significant size. Lubbock did not have a visible art presence until the Louise Hopkins Underwood Center for the Arts, LHUCA, came into being through the hard work and perseverance of a great many dedicated individuals. LHUCA has become a major influence for the arts in this area and is rapidly gaining prestige throughout the state. LHUCA's First Friday Art Trail has been drawing crowds of as many as 4,000 and those crowds continue to grow as the event becomes more textured. Because of LHUCA success other cultural based non profits are scrambling to move into Lubbock's down town area and we are rapidly growing a vital and sustainable arts district.

I got my first greyhound from APFUG in New Mexico. I was so impressed by the commitment of the volunteers, and the concern for the well being of the dogs above all else, I began to volunteer. All three of my greyhounds have been APFUG hounds.

This organization has been unwavering in its mission to help individuals living with special needs. I have found the leadership of this organization to be phenomenal, dedicated to service, and visionary. I can only speak highly of such a great nonprofit organization.
