I have been involved in the mansion for 5 years, first as a volunteer and now, as a paying member (with less time to volunteer). I have seen the number of events held grow significantly over the last several years, and I have also seen that the leadership of the mansion have developed events that appeal to different audiences, community members, tourists, young and old. There is always an educational component to every event I've attended, and I appreciate the efforts that all are making to establish the mansion as a leading Philadelphia Museum
Review from Guidestar
What was it like to be an up and coming Philadelphia businessman 150 years ago? How did you live? How did your family live? This beautifully restored house museum lets visitors understand in new ways what it was like to live in Victorian Philadelphia. The different events and tours throughout the year are fun, and showcase various aspects of Victorian life. The Mansion is in Philly's Germantown neighborhood, close to other historic house museums. It's a little bit off the beaten track, but well worth the trip.
