Mission: Each of the parties to the East Central Area Reliability Agreement owns an electric utility system engaged in the generation, transmission, and sale of electric power and energy in the East Central Area of the United States. They are hereinafter referred to collectively as the "ECA Companies." The systems of the ECA Companies are interconnected directly or indirectly and are operated in synchronism pursuant to a number of separate agreements among two or more of such companies.
