Causes: Down Syndrome, Health
Mission: Our mission is to empower individuals with down syndrome and their families to be fully included as valued members of our community.
Programs: The down syndrome network of northern nevada held multiple family support group programs, over ten club 21 events, one adaptive bike camp, one down syndrome awareness walk, three sibshops, and numerous other programs that helped support families in the northern nevada community.
the dsnnn raised funds through monthly strategic fundraisers and raised over 55,000 during the 11th annual buddy walk in september 2016 to help forward the mission of the down syndrome network. All funds have gone towards expanding and hosting all dsnnn programs and events, including ican bike camp, buddy walk, family support groups, rural outreach, club 21, family support outreach, first call, medical outreach, and a lending library.
the dsnnn raised awareness for individuals with down syndrome by expanding both medical outreach educational tools and the first call initiative. Both programs allow individuals in the community to understand a down syndrome diagnosis while treating individuals with down syndrome "more alike than different".
