Mission: Domestic violence intervention collaborative responds to community needs focusing on filling gaps in services to families impacted by domestic violence. Services provided assist families of all income levels and cultural backgrounds and are geared to halt the cycle of violence in families, help victims recover from the trauma caused by the domestic violence, and assist parents as they become empowered to provide safer and healthier environments for their children and themselves.
Programs: The organization advocates and counselors work with families to assess the domestic violence history, provide crisis counseling, develop safety plans, understand court orders and navigate the court systems they may be involved with. Clients are connected with needed resources, and provided with various forms of individual and group therapy / domestic violence counseling. Dvic works in a unique collaboration with the courts in addressing the issue of domestic violence, and whenever possible staff are present at court to assist and support clients and to consult with other professionals who are involved in the court system.
