Mission: We have specific goals in mind…to save lives from being taken by the heinous crime of domestic violence and to bring more awareness to the onslaught of the AIDS epidemic. Many are entangled in the vicious cycle of abuse, with the death toll rising at an alarming rate, daily. We are relentless in our mission and know that if we don’t get abusers the crucial, volunteer help they desperately need, the violent cycle will not be broken, causing many more lives to be lost. An abuser will not call a Victim’s Hotline…they need a dedicated hotline, with confidentiality. We have established the first National 24 Hour Abuser Hotline (888) SOS-ABUSER, which will work in conjunction with ''The Real Man Campaign: Man to Man Advocacy Program. If we can help one abuser turn his/her life around to become non violent, we could possibly save more than one life. The services DVAMNJ offers to domestic violence abusers is unprecedented and we look forward to seeing our mission accomplished!”
Programs: The first National 24 hour Abuser Hotline (888) SOS-ABUSER is established which will be publicized, just as much, if not more than the Victims Hotline. We believe abusers need to have a voluntary, confidential outlet that offers services, such as counseling, prayer/suicide hotlines, mentorship and support, by non-violent men (such as Clergy) Many will have the opportunity to change, before they are forced into the court system and ordered by a judge to attend anger management and/or face jail time. Some attend the anger management, in lieu of jail time, which is of no benefit to the abuser or the victim because he(she) is being forced and change will not take place. Many victims, as well as abusers are losing their lives with Orders of Protections in place. Many victims and survivors know how it feels to walk out of a courtroom with that piece of paper in hand and to really wish that they were taking the Judge or the police home with them, instead, for more protection. It's bad enough that this individual has hurt and injured you, before you ever got to a courtroom...the victim is more likely than not, scared of their abuser and now will have to hope that he/she will actually obey the court order of protection. Too many times, the abuser does not. We do not believe or suggest that the current system needs to take anything away from it, but instead by adding the 24 Hour Abuser Hotline, along with volunteer the services such as "The Real Man Campaign: Man to Man Advocacy Program", lives will be saved, including abusers. Many are dying, right along with the victims, when they commit the murder-suicides, which are escalating at an alarming rate, worldwide. The cost for housing so many victims and other expenses which are incurred from these cases of domestic violence will also decrease through our mission. We are very passionate about this horrendous subject and are dedicated to seeing a positive change in the statistics. The 24 Hour Abuser Hotline (888) SOS-ABUSER will be a powerful effort to stop domestic violence as well as the Real Man Campaign: Man to Man Advocacy Program.
