Mission: Restoring emotional,mental and physical health to returning veterans through meaningful job training, employment and the arts.
Programs: Desert forge foundation successfully executed multiple grants in 2017. These include: 1)usda, nrcs grant, 75,000; usda, 2501 grant, 200,000; 3) albuquerque community foundation, 60,000; 4)mccune charitable foundation, 15,000; 5) con alma health foundation, 10,000. These funds were used to provide training in agriculture, leadership, and business to 12 veterans and underserved community members. The albuquerque community foundation, a local philanthropic group, held a fundraising event netting over 60,000 in funds to help continue building new programs to serve our veterans. At & t selected desert forge as one of 30 recipients nationwide to receive a grant to purchase a food truck to continue training and employing veterans featuring locally grown food. Desert forge will continue to build on these successes moving into 2018.
