Programs: In fy17, dc127 served the largest number of children to-date in one year. Through safe families for children program, we served 31 children from 17 families with a 93. 3% return rate to their families. 65% of these families received support for over 6 months, and several of the families we served are still connected and building relationships with our volunteers. Dc127 is also becoming very well known to the city and we received 105 referral calls from dc's child and family services agency, local shelters, schools and hospitals. Additionally, dc127 began serving 5 young women who are in foster care themselves and working to keep their children with them. In our foster care work, dc127's network saw 6 children reach permanency goals and either be adopted into a new family or reunified with their families.
