CYT has been, since we started 2 years ago, a blessing. Every single young or older counselor is a kind soul who put together the most beautiful productions. This year, we do not mind the 40-minute drive to their Friday workshop. We look forward to getting more involved with CYT beyond the theater.
I am so thankful for CYT Phoenix! It has been a wonderful experience for our family for the past three years. We have all made amazing friends and enjoyed being part of excellent classes and amazing main stage shows. I highly recommend this organization to anyone interested in the performing arts.

We were surprised to see the review above since our experience with this nonprofit arts organization has been wonderful! Our daughter has participated for years and has grown in many ways. We feel it is a well run and responsible organization. They provide excellent arts training through classes and participating in productions. We appreciate the family-friendly nature of the material they use. Parents are required to help out in a production area if their student is involved in the show and that time commitment can be hard for working parents. But in the end, it is a wonderful way to spend time with your child! By doing this CYT is able to keep the costs to families low. We have never felt "begged" for money and have certainly never been yelled at. We have and a great experience at CYT Phoenix!

One of the worst experiences I have had. The theater puts on a nice production and the kids do so well but the management is beyond horrific. We were berated by the leaders of the group over the phone, being yelled at and threatened to be taken out of the play after they begged us for money, simply because we were late to a rehearsal. Horrible horrible horrible experience. Were extremely rude and unprofessional. Wasted money and time. (and a lot of it). Will never be doing any productions with this team again. You are warned. Beware.

CYT Phoenix is not sure who has written this review as they are writing anonymously, but we are certainly sorry to see it. We would have loved the opportunity to try to resolve this somehow at that time, if we had had an opportunity to do so. We value our volunteers so much! And love the kids that come to learn and grow with our organization! We certainly do not yell at or berate our participants. We do expect our participants to follow through with the written agreement they make once they join a cast and are involved in one of our shows to attend all the rehearsals they are needed for. Not sure what the begging for money could refer to - we do ask for support, like all nonprofits, as our income from tuition and tickets only covers part of our costs. Our staff is paid far below a standard wage and they work very hard. Since this was written more than a year ago, we may be too late in seeing it to be able to address the concerns. We wish they had addressed us directly. If the writer of this review would contact us, we would certainly like to have the opportunity to resolve their concerns. We do apologize that you were upset by anyone in our organization and if anyone acted unprofessionally to you.
