Causes: Arts & Culture, Humanities
Mission: To assist persons in urgent situations, to educate the public in water safety and proper life-vest use, and work with police agencies to locate evidence.
Results: The Team does educational assemblies for local schools every year, attends six events open to the public each year, and assists the Cowlitz County Sheriff's Department in water related rescues/recoveries whenever paged. The number of calls varies.
Target demographics: educate the public about water safety, evidence recovery, and to provide closure for families of drowning victims.
Direct beneficiaries per year: 2000 students, 5 public entities
Geographic areas served: mainly Cowlitz County, but travel to other counties with the Sheriff's Department.
Programs: educational school assemblies and booth and demonstrations at public events.
