I'm having a problem with the lady that runs the one on 3630 N. 50th street. Total bully! I'm being harassed by a transsexual and I brought the issue to her oh, let me just say this we have yet to sit down to settle the matter because she already has her mind made up. Once I found out I wasn't being treated Fair I asked for the corporate number. Her response was" that they were only going to call her and tell her, she was basically telling me she can do whatever she wants,, I'm well into my 50's and I have yet to meet anyone that didn't have a boss. Tomorrow I have a day off and I'm going you ever sit down with the people at acts Tampa. I've never been one to ask for help but after this I'd rather jump off a bridge before I ask for help again. The rest of the staff is great. Special thanks to Mike and Angie.

DACCO's cultural environment is toxic for its employees, who try to care about the clients as much as they can, but managers do not treat employees as if they are people. Managers ignore employees until something is needed, and only the teacher's pets get to use the free interns and have birthday parties, leave early before holidays and can miss clocking out so they don't have to use their holiday time. If you work there and you don't suck up to the boss, no birthday, no response to questions, no feedback about problems, threats that your position might be cut. Human Resources gives one answer then your boss turns around and tells you something else. Complain up the chain of command who all stick up for each other but no one sticks up for the person lowest on the totem pole. Ask for help, not only denied but told you could have it worse! Managers ask you to alter a document for an audit, you don't feel like you have a choice. The best part is that all of these managers are licensed clinical social workers! They should be supportive and understanding. It's bad enough that the clients aren't thankful, we expect that, let alone being mistreated by management. These all result in high turnover, and we all know studies show high turnover results in a gap in client services.

Dacco is a cesspool of lying, cheating, nasty and rude personnel who think they are above and beyond the care clients they are there to help. I have met one extremely nice man on the times I have come to visit my son. The building it's self if filthy and beyond disrepair. Carpet is torn and looks like it has never been clean and the stench will make your eyes water. From what I have been told, the food is moderately edible, ever enough to adequately feed 110 men and the snack machines are always empty. Not to mention they collect 180 a month in food stamps per person to feed them (that's over 19,000) and they get fed slop. not enough food, not enough milk or fresh fruit or vegetables. Men are allowed to by 40 - 50 snacks at a time which pretty much empties the machine and then they turn around and resell the items to the other men at twice the price. This I believe is extortion. They will not let you bring in prepackaged snacks or coffee because some of the men don't want to share. Nor should they have to if they are being ripped off to buy the same type of snacks at twice the price of the vending machine.
They inturn keep 40% of the working men and women's paycheck when they begin working for supposed up care and keep. While I can see the sense of that, id they actually uses it for those purposes it would be different. I went one visiting day and they were having a car wash. Yet no one could actually tell me what the money was going to be used for. Um, I'm not sure, maybe and outing for the guys or maybe supplies for indignant clients, soap, toothpaste, ect. I'm not really sure what it goes for, ask our director. No surprise when you can never get him to reply to your calls.
Bottom line here, Dacco is the last place you should consider when looking for a place for recovery. At the present they have 110 men and 9 counselors for one facility. That doesn't leave much time for one on one counseling per person. When the house gets put on lockdown because someone has broken a rule, they spend the day in group meetings chanting the Serenity Prayer, more of a cult following than act help. More like laziness than anything else.
This is my son's second time there and it was the last facility in this area I wanted him to be place in. Dacco is a pure waste of time and no so effective resources. More like a holding facility than a place to get real actual help for your addition.

My nephew I went to DACCO were he did a drug test. He & I were told the they are going to place Steven in out patient especially if his drug test comes clean. Later told his guardian that they will call him once they receive court paper to schedule steven for out patient treatment. Showed Steven around and introduced him to the psychiatrist that handles youth out patient. All was lies!!!!!!! They sent the court recommendation of residential. it felt like a brick thrown in our face. FYI... steven tested clean on the drug test. I believe they make a fee recommending a residential that is in Hasting???? Stay a way !!!!!!!! They will lie & hurt you....

From the Director's position on down and the lack of VOICE that is never heard on behalf of the Patients is the reason for the Looming bad vibe that is a constant there ! I myself am a veteran who's treatment is paid for by the V A and I have lost all respect for the pesonell who lies while looking you straight in the eye ! These people make you feel worse than when you were out doing bad in life and they do not care about the patients in any capasity other than the money we generate to pay them with ! I feel that they could care less wether I live or die . They know there will be another Junkie come along to take my place ! WoW , how sad can that be ? ? ?
I don't know if this outfit is a NoN-Profit or not ?
