Mission: The purpose of casa is to help obtain out-of-home placements for abused and neglected children in order to achieve permanency in a safe and nurturing environment. The organization provides court-appointed volunteers to advocate for permanent homes for children. The organization is principally in the business of recruiting, training, and supervising volunteers who are appointed by a judge in family court to advocate for a child or family of children who are in out-of-home placement.
Programs: During the program year, the organization provided court advocacy services to 168 children and utilized the services of 56 advocates. Over the duration of the year, the outcomes for the 76 children served resulted in 23 adoptions, 26 healthy parent reunifications, 20 remain with placement parent, 2 long term specialized care, 3 transfer out of county, 1 achieved independent living, and 1 opted out. Program service expenses as presented here does not include $161,627 of donated services and materials.
