Programs: Researched and developed the san diego fringe festival to produce the first annual san diego fringe festival july 1-7, 2013. This is a community event open to all artists as a platform in a festival atmosphere, to introduce emerging and established live entertainment to the public at low cost. The artists receive support and training to become producers of their own shows and receive all proceeds from ticket sales to the shows. Presented 52 participating companies with 183 performances over 7 days to 3,027 ticketed attendance plus guests, at 17 indoor venues. Buskers provided entertainment and advertising to the large crowds at seaport village. 100% box office payout was given to the artists. The total payout was $43,750. Donated venues included les girls theater, whistle stop, searsucker, 10th avenue theater including the roof for fringe central which is a casual meeting place for artists, crew, and festival attendees who paid for a low cost fringe badge. There were free shows and a concession offering food and drink. Fringe festivals introduce new audiences to theatre, but cultivate theatre fans some of whom see dozens of plays at a single festival.
