Mission: Chci's mission is to develop the next generation of latino leaders by providing paid congressional internships and fellowships, leadership development curriculum and mentoring.
Programs: Chci public policy and graduate fellowship programs:these programs offer on average 20 talented, young latinos a year, who have earned their bachelor's or masters degrees respectively, the opportunity to participate in a nine month public policy fellowship on capitol hill in a congressional office, committee, or federal agency. The placement experience is complemented by weekly educational and leadership training opportunities. They also get to connect with our nation's leaders on various issues. Fellows receive roundtrip airfare, a bi-monthly stipend, and optional healthcare.
chci public policy conference:the two day public policy conference is held annually and facilitates discussions of the most significant issues affecting the latino community. It takes an innovative approach with its latino leader's summit series that turns concurrent sessions and addresses relevant, critical issues facing the community, identifying best practices taking place nationally. More than 600 leaders and advocates join us during our conference - our signature hispanic heritage month programs.
chci congressional internship program:these internships run spring, summer, and fall and provide approximately 70 college undergraduates a year the opportunity to be placed in a congressional office to gain first-hand knowledge of the u. S. Legislative process. The placement experience is complemented by weekly educational and leadership trainings and opportunities to connect with our nation's leaders on various issues. Interns receive roundtrip airfare, a bi-monthly stipend, monthly metro benefit card, housing, and optional healthcare.
