Mission: Congregation Bnai Abraham is a direct outgrowth of the Kopyczynitzer Chassidic group founded by Grand Rabbi Isaac Meir Heschel in Kopychintsy, Ukraine in 1894. Upon Rabbi Isaac Meir's death in 1935 he was succeeded by his son Grand Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel, who in 1939 transplanted the group to the U.S. In 1967, Rabbi A.J. Heschel passed away and was succeeded by his son Rabbi Moshe Mordechai Heschel. The Kopyczynitz Chassidic group is dedicated to the ideals of Chessed and Ahavas Yisroel. It has become virtually synonymous with charity and kindness, and is world renowned for helping all in need. In recent years emphasis was made on outreach and education as well as the basic charitable activities. Unfortunately our limited funds restrain us from helping many needy and worthy causes and individuals.
