Programs: Community leadership development: administers and directs the "public allies, los angeles" program which is jointly sponsored by americorps and foundations. Trains young community leaders 18-30 years old through job placements in non-profit organizations, community college courses, retreats, training seminars and service learning projects. Develops leadership capacity by training, coaching and mentoring at local leadership councils, business associations and parent groups in targeted areas of south los angeles. Administers a "service works" project working directly with local high school students and young adults ages 18-24 providing workshop trainings in job readiness and social skills. Also develop, organize and lead program participants in the performance of community improvement projects.
community capacity building and training: build the capacity of individuals, institutions and community organizations to improve the economic, environmental, political and social conditions of geographically targeted communities of los angeles. Conduct outreach, engagement, community building activities encouraging collective action among residents and stakeholders to provide more jobs and better living conditions in low income communities.
urban manufacturing initiatives: coordinates meetings, networking opportunities and trainings for manufacturers and food processors seeking greener, more energy efficient and safer way to produce and market their products.
