Mission: The community coalition organizes south los angeles residents to address and work toward substance prevention as well as to support those in recovery from addiction by actively recruiting their involvement.
Programs: Community organizing: kinship in action - supports relative caregivers and initiates campaigns to improve the conditions for community resident children in the care of relatives in la county. Prevention network - an alliance of clientele and staff from social service agencies working to remove the barriers to employment and education for formerly incarcerated south la residents. Land use committee - organizes residents to address the root causes of crime by developing solutions that bring quality jobs, responsible businesses and safe streets to south la. Parents in action - trains parents to advocate for their children and to work with them to improve the quality of their schools.
