Programs: College & career connections' (ccc) mission is to effect a radical transformation in the aspirations and capacity of youth living in washington dc's low-income communities to graduate from high school and pursue higher education in greater numbers through early exposure to college and careers. Its two-year curriculum of college and career exploration workshops, field trips, and activities helps youth develop the motivation, skills, and knowledge they need to transition successfully from middle school to high school ready to plan for and pursue higher education. Provided to 8th and 9th graders during the school day, ccc's program helps youth understand the connection between educational attainment, fulfilling careers, and a better future and engages them more deeply in school and learning at the time when they are most impressionable and likely to drop out.
