Mission: Since 1979, CCAN has provided advocacy services for the victims of child abuse and neglect. As a center for the prevention of child abuse, CCAN provides educational services both to the child victim services professional through its Training Institute and to the general public. In additional to case and treatment coordination for a local county social services department, CCAN provides direct services through: Child Victim Advocate Program, which focuses solely on the needs of a child victim after disclosure, Project Kidz Talk, a socialization and peer support group for child victims of sexual abuse and PATCHES, a parents peer support group, Project Families Together for parents exiting substance rehabilitation reuniting with their foster care placed children and the Child Advocacy Center, a child friendly environment for children to make disclosures of sexual abuse that also serves as the home of the government agencies that investigate the allegations.
