Child Care Council of Nassau, Inc. is an incredible resource for families in Nassau County. The organization is creative and forward thinking in how to engage the community and get information to the community about quality child care options. The trainings for and support to child care providers are invaluable. The opportunties provided to pair parents with quality child care providers that meet their needs is a resource that helps families sleep at night.

I had the opportunity to work as an intern with the Child Care Council of Nassau for 6 weeks this past summer. I was able to experience a great deal during my time there. The staff went above and beyond to welcome me into the office, and teach me as much as possible. The work done within all of the programs has such a wonderful impact on the people they serve. The child care council is one of the most impressive places I had the pleasure of working with.

Being a Board Member for the Child Care Council of Nassau, Inc. has been an honor and a pleasure. Collaborating with members from diverse professional backgrounds who share the same mission and vision in supporting Nassau County families fosters great ideas. This enables our organization to overcome day-to-day challenges to further provide greater access to affordable and quality child care.

This was the most rewarding program my daycare has ever participated in. It gave value to Marks of Excellence Daycare, Amityville NY: My program with a mission that was life-changing for parents families and the community at large. I feel that I made a HUGE difference in making our community more educated and they felt empowered to do the right thing at an affordable cost and an amazing convenience. It does not get any better than this. It took my daycare to another level of caring and I never saw parents so willing to engage and be a part of something for all to share . Just a happy environment for all to take part in..extremely uplifting all the way around. Thank you Farm to Pre-school Child Care Council of Nassau!! I plan on continuing this program because the community will miss it and so will I.

Over the past few years we have needed advice on the many changes in NYS regulations in respect to after school programs. I have taken as many courses as I could attend at the Child Care Council and each time I walk away feeling I am not alone out there. The support and recommendations by the Council staff are outstanding. Each class I attend is relevant to my job and I am always welcomed with a smile. Joy Connolly and Lorena Munyak have spent many hours on the phone and in person assisting me with any requests I have had and I look forward to working closely with Alyssa Repetti in the future. We have participated in Mandated Reporter courses, regulations webinars, and made many calls about CACFP nutrition information and health care plan assistance. Valuable and outstanding support from this council. Thank you.

The child care council of Nassau has been an absolute amazing support to my center over the past 10 years. The organization not only provides great hands on trainings but also center program visits and feed back. I recently attended their first Super Saturday training and all I can say is I hope they continue to do this training because I will be sending my teacher's next time around.

Child Care Council is an excellent organization and benefits child care providers in many different capacities. They are always so helpful anytime I call with questions. The classes they offer are always filled with informative materials and ideas for me to bring back to my daycare. I have especially enjoyed the Four Corner class with Ms. Odetta and the Food class with Ms.Phyllis. -awesome instructors with great ideas!!

I am a daycare provider and I have had the pleasure of working with child care council about 4 years. They are truly a great organization. I have taken lots of training classes with them and I also participate with the CACFP program. They have lots of fun activities for the community and the staff are wonderful people.

As a temporary employee of the Child Care Council of Nassau, I got to experience first hand how important this agency is. The multiple programs and services offered support all levels of early childhood, from helping families find the right centers for their children to advocating in Albany for policy change. The agency is run by thoughtful, dedicated, and empowering women changing lives and working for a better future for children and families across Nassau county.

Me and my daycare center have been members of the Council for over 10 years. They are a wonderful resource not only for staff but for me as a director. We have worked with the Council on many occasions for classroom observations, workshops, technical support and events that they sponsor for children. I always refer parents to them when they are looking for assistance with finding care for their infants or just need some support and advice. It is great to have this kind of agency available.

I have been a volunteer involved with Child Care Council of Nassau for over 10 years . The services it provides, and the "family" involved, have been extraordinary in their devotion to children and childcare planning. Without their resources helping the community create affordable quality childcare, parents would not be able to feel confident and assured that their children are well taken care of. They are professional voices in the county and state when it comes to advocating for quality affordable childcare. We need this organization! I had I really nice experience with the Child care council , the staff are so helpful I went over there looking for orientation to get my mother take care of my son at home , and they filled out everything for me , gave bilingual assistance “Karen “ she’s is so professional and always there to answer any question .

We are a Child Care Center on Long Island and have the amazing opportunity to work with the Child Care Council of Nassau. We have had help in many different departments such as professional development, technical assistance, early childhood consultation partnership, and health care consultant. Their expertise and professionalism is absolutely invaluable to me as a Director and to my staff members. We feel supported and guided by every single member that has visited our center. We are in a better position to serve our community in Child Care because of them.

Childcare Council of Nassau is a terrific nonprofit based on Long Island that tirelessly helps families from all backgrounds in the area. I don't know what we would do without their huge positive impact on Long Island! They have touched countless lives and we are forever grateful.

I interned with this nonprofit organization for 4 months, and could not have had a better experience! The staff are incredibly friendly and hardworking, and the programs offered through this organization uplift surrounding communities and provide resources they might not have access to otherwise.

My first time placing my son in a summer camp and I wanted to thank Child Care Council of Nassau for all the referrals and helping me find a great location that fit my needs. They provided a list of multiple summer camps around my work area that were reasonable in price and fit my hours. I chose to place my son in Harbor Child Care and I am very happy I did. My son loved the camp, the staff was great, they have an activity for the kids everyday, they include all meals and overall it made my summer very smooth. The staff member that assisted me was very friendly and you can tell she really wanted to help me. Most non-profit organization staff members have a bad attitude and I was pleasantly surprised at how helpful the staff member was. Once again, thank you!!

As a PLI graduate, I have created a strong networks and connections to others who stand for similar ideas: well being of our children; importance of a safe and nurturing environments for families among many others. PLI has provided me with the tools necessary to make a change and get going! I am so grateful to the Child Care Council of Nassau, Inc., for its resources , programs and amazing staff!

A start up grant many years ago ,offered classes that's needed to educate me in my business. These classes helped me to deal with situations that helped the growth of children . As a PLI participant I gained a deeper appreciation for many of the complex challenges facing communities throughout Nassau County, including my own. At times the problems we face seemed overwhelming. However, by learning how to more effectively use my own strengths and the strengths which already exist in my community, I am now working with others to make our community more caring and inclusive. The support I received from PLI staff and especially my fellow classmates has been invaluable.

I was able to participate in pli. It gave me such great advocacy skills. I learned so much and was able to apply it to a service project in my community. Additionally, they were very helpful and helping me narrow down daycare centers in my area.

The PLI program was one of the greatest experiences of my life. The staff and my classmates were the most driven, educated, exceptional human beings that I have ever met... Everyone wanted to see everyone succeed .. I wish I could relive the experience all over again ..

My dad had open heart surgery. This operation saved his life. He had a quadruple bypass. He had this in his late fifties. I donated to the Child Care Council of Nassau inc. in 1999. I dontated in honor of my father and children who suffer from heart disease.

The Child Care Council of Nassau's Farm to Preschool program is one of the most innovative programs I have ever seen. Farm to Preschool is stemming the tide of childhood obesity!

Childcare Counsil is an amazing organization with efficient and knowledgable professionals. They have helped me grow providing the ultimate training based on updated Research , reliable and appropiate practices. The services they provide are a key for success and quality for early education providers.

As a worker in the early childhood field, I always appreciated the Child Care Council of Nassau. They offered great professional development for teachers, helpful information to parents and news that helped keep me informed about relevant news and research.
When I was invited to join the board, I was happy to help support the organization. I learned how much more the Council does to improve the lives of families. There are programs about nutrition and health, legislative actions, parent leadership and training opportunities for everyone working with children - from principals to teacher assistants. The Council continues to concentrate its efforts on improving the quality of childcare. They have terrific professionals educating preschool and daycare teachers about keeping children healthy and safe - as well as what constitutes developmentally appropriate education for young children. This is very important work! We all benefit because the Child Care Council of Nassau does it so very well!

Years ago looking for a child care program for my child I call Child Care council of Nassau, Inc. I was very happy with the help I received. Later on while trying to get information on how to open a daycare I then received great directions and training and much needed resources to make a successful program. The staff and their ongoing wealth of knowledge on new and upcoming information on training and guidance with regulations are the best.

This nonprofits organization was truly a blessing to my daycare. We learned so much about healthy eating and movements activities. My kids always asking about the program. They enjoy eating vegetables more and they are not afraid of trying new foods Absolutely an amazing organization!

Child Care Council of Nassau , Inc. helped us improve the quality of our nursery school, through the Shoot for the Stars Program. When they first came to observe, the ECERS scores were on the low side. CCCN provided several workshops, educational support to our staff, and lots of constructive advice. Our ECERS scores have improved immensely, our classroom are set up as fun learning environments, and materials are alway accessible to the children.

The entire team at Child Care Council of Nassau, Inc. is always willing to help; weather it be to assist in registering for workshops and classes, or following up with an answer to a dilemma. They are always courteous, knowledgeable and professional.

The Child Care Council of Nassau was one of the first organizations I contacted when I first opened up my daycare center. I enrolled in their food program right away. That was the best decision ever. I am still with them. And through the years they have been very supportive. The yearly 2 hour trainings are always pleasant and informative and have a different topic each time. I learn something new every time I go.
I also participated in the Eat Well, Play Hard program, which lasted several months and consisted of training, in home visits and onsite food related plus movement group activities. The whole program as very interesting and the children loved it. An extra plus were the many gifts (books, CD’s, kitchen utensils, etc.).
I highly recommend any daycare center to have the Child Care Council assist you on your journey to provide quality childcare and serve healthy foods.

Child care council has helped me so much the past couple years as it allowed to work knowing that i didnt have to worry about my daughter as she was in child care were she was getting a great education.

I called child care council for help so I can work and send my son to a childcare. The lady who I spoke with told me I was eligible and she emailed me referrals. Then a couple days later I get an email saying I do not qualify. When i called back to find out why I don't qualify anymore they told me I do quality and they don't know why I got the email. Then after I set it all up I get a letter in the mail saying sorry you do not qualify and they denied my request. Extreme waste of time!

Child Care Council Of Nassau has been extremely helpful. They are a great organization with great people who work very hard. They have a lot of passion and are very committed to improving childcare service.

When I wanted to become a Childcare Provider, Childcare Counsel of Nassau was there to help. They left no stones unturned in the complete set up of a ligitimate business plan. Loans, grants, free starter kits, training, suggested contracts between Providers and parents, attendance sheets and suggested fees to charge to parents were meticulous developed.
All providers, like myself, had to do was to show proof of who we were and the ability to house the children comfortably and safely. Counsel even runs a referal system to help parents and providers get together.
About two years ago, Counsel came into my program to help me set up a more professional environment for better learning. This was done free of charge. What more could you ask of a nonprofit organization?
Counsel is the greatest.

Finding childcare is scary and hard to do and the support of the Council was crucial in me finding a qualified day care program for my daughter. They gave me a list with multiple local places and what they offered with their contact information and it made my search easy. Now my daughter is in a place she loves and I am confident that when I leave her she is safe and in a learning environment.

The passion and commitment to improving childcare services is inspiring. I am humbled to be a tiny part of their efforts.

Care Council has been extremly wonderful. I truly appreciate their respect towards me. I find the Child Care Council to be honest in respect to time and low payments of the classes they schedule. There has never been a time when I have called and the person who answers the phone was rude or disrespectful, and I call for everything. I love the classes they give because it goes towards my license. The staff is great and very friendly and will assist in my needs. As a family provider it can be difficult because I work by myself but since I have associated myself for many years with the council I really do not feel so alone. The Child Care Council is a wonder and uplifting organization to be a part of. Many Thanks to all of you.

Child Care Council has been a part of my Daycare life since 2004.

Initially, I was very intimidated and nervous - contemplating closing. Thanks to the staff at CCC I have been in business for 14 years now and I'm very confident and joyful caring for my "little blessings."

Caring for infants and toddlers is a HUGE responsibility and CCC has helped me in all components:
TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE (the infant/toddler specialist came right out to assist me when I called), MOCK SURVEYS (to assure compliance with NYS Regulations), TRAINING (the facilitators are very competent and experienced), and the follow-up is always so heart-felt because they are genuinely concerned about the care of children as well as the well-being of the providers.

CCC is a "Safe Haven" for child care providers. A place where we are encouraged, trained/educated, referred, and kept informed on what's going on in the political arena as it relates to child care issues.

In my opinion, Child Care Council is not just an "agency", they are a "Community of Friends" who share the same goals and values for our "Little Blessings." They are already #1 in my book!

I had the opportunity to take a series of classes one in which the course was called the Four Corners. It was the best thing I have ever done for myself and my child care business. Odetta and Lisa who conducted the class worked well as a team and was very much able to give me what I needed to make me more professional as a provider and a business owner. They made me feel able to go on another 10 years as a Childcare Provider. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone interested in making a child's life a little better. Odetta came out to my childcare home to provider me with technical assistants she was great. Lisa was also wonderful as a teacher . My name Is Vernetta D Smith and I am owner and provider of Smith Tender Care Daycare Inc. I would just like to take a moment to express my gratefulness for the STEM program through Child Care Council of Nassau. I was able to now offer the children Science Technology Engineering and Math all through play. The Stem program provided me with the tools and the materials needed. I was even helped with my room arrangement that made all the difference in the world. The children are now engaged and pick and choose what areas they decide they want to work in. We were also encourage how to use what we have in our homes to cut down on the expense and be able to provide what the children need. Being in the Stem program helped me become more of an aware provider. At one point I was losing my joy because of not having a full program but now I am able to use the STEM program as a marketing tool for the families I provided care and in much hopes that I will soon be filled. I have been a licensed child care provider for twenty four years and I can't count the times that I reached for the telephone to contact the Child Care Council of Nassau for help. They are an amazing resource for me, my staff, and of course the families of the children that I care for. I am a director of a preschool and have always found the Child Care Council of Nassau to be professional, well informed and helpful. I have attended many of their workshops and have found them to be top notch.

I've been involved with the Childcare Council of Nassau for 18 years. They have given me so much knowledge and help with my Family Daycare including a food program for the kids I take care of. Two years ago after losing most of my home, business, cars etc. to Superstorm Sandy they were right there with offers of help. I really appreciated them when I needed them the most.

When I first joined the CCCN board, I was stunned and incredibly impressed by the amount of passion and enthusiasm the directors and staff bring to their jobs at this organization on a daily basis. Nassau County is so lucky to have this resource available and thriving, and I am honored to play even a small role in that.

As a board Member of Child Care Council of Nassau for the past year I feel privileged to be a small part of an organization committed to childcare advocacy. The drive, passion, and impact of the staff and associates and the volume of work they accomplish in serving parents and children is truly exceptional.

As a provider for many years in Nassau County, I have counted on CC's help in many areas which includes workshops, resources and advise. I have worked with the Child Care council in two aspects of child care, Group Family and as a Director of a non profit center. Their advise first lead me to work on my CDA. With the guidance of CCC I received my CDA. I was the first CCC trained CDA candidate to receive my CDA. When the director position came about I was asked to continue my education. I once again to the professionals at CCC. Their advice and encouragement lead me to Empire State College. I am proud to say in just four short years I received my BS. On a personal level CCC rates at least ten stars.

As a Board member for a number of years, I have first-hand experience and knowledge about the workings of the Child Care Council of Nassau. The level of passion and commitment of the staff is off the charts and the manner in which the organization is run administratively is excellent. There isn't anyone who is not consumed by the mission and the length of service of many of the staff is an indication of a first-rate organization. It is both an honor and a privilege to part of this outstanding organization.

As a new board member, I am impressed with the level of professionalism and attention to detail paid to the actual management of the Child Care Council of Nassau County. These "behind the scenes" activities are often under-appreciated, but in my experience the way that an organization is managed in private is reflected in how it appears to the public. The Child Care Council's commitment to serving their clients and the children that they serve...ALL children...is evident in the way that they conduct their business. The integrity and commitment of the staff shows in the questions that they ask, the programs that they create, and the funding that they pursue to provide additional educational opportunities for caregivers and families.

Proud to have been associated with the Child Care Council since 1979 and it is my great pleasure to continue as a Board member for my 19th year. They are information specialist in the area of child care in terms of an advisory board. The women were kind, compassionate, and extremely intelligent. The Child Care Council of Nassau (CCCN) was very professional and very thorough in helping me locate various types of child care options near my home. I had done plenty of online searches, but they were able to find even more childcare locations nearby that did not come up in my searches. CCCN staff followed up with me regularly to ask if I needed further assistance in searching and selecting childcare. The staff also had some good pointers in what to look for when interviewing and visiting daycare sites. I would definitely recommend them!

I became a Board member because of the extremely important work Child Care Council of Nassau does. In the age of two income homes, childcare takes on a very important role. By evaluating child care centers to determine their level of expertise and value, CCCN can provide quality referrals to families in need of child care assistance.
