The Civic Symphony of San Francisco welcomes performers of all ages and abilities. It is a great way for amateur musicians who are new to the city, as well as long-time residents returning to their instrument to join a "community" of like-minded music-lovers. The orchestra is self-supporting, and with increases in the cost of renting rehearsal and performance venues, donations are important in helping the organization achieve its goal of providing free classical and contemporary concerts to the public.
The Civic Symphony Association of San Francisco supports the San Francisco Civic Symphony. With this support, the SF Civic Symphony is able to offer free concerts to the public. I am a board member, and can testify that 100% of the money donated is used to support the SF Civic Symphony.
