Programs: Children’s Literacy Center (CLC) believes that every child deserves the opportunity to become literate, that literacy is the foundation for all learning, and in literacy’s inherent value to society. Through our efforts CLC seeks to increase the number of children in Colorado who are reading at grade level by the end of 3rd grade and instill a greater appreciation for the art of reading and learning in children, their parents/guardians and communities. Working with businesses, schools and families in Colorado, Children’s Literacy Center utilizes the Peak Reader Program to provide free one-to-one tutoring for children reading below grade level. Tutoring takes place after school at a variety of client and community-based locations including libraries, book stores, and schools.
