mental health services:mental health services are provided to children who have been abusedand to families in need of professional help to get their lives back ontrack. Each year, children's bureau provides more than 62,500 hours ofmental health therapy and counseling to children and parents in need. One of our specialties is helping foster and adoptive children withmental disorders reduce their depression, anxiety, anger and/orwithdrawal that frequently accompany abuse. Children's bureau believesthis critical therapy helps to break the cycle of abuse that is oftenongoing as these particular children become adults.

Children's bureau doesthis through foster care and adoption programs. Each year, children'sbureau finalizes over 100 adoptions and places more than 400 childrenwith loving foster care families. For those foster and adoptivefamilies who need further help, children's bureau provide therapy,mentoring and support groups through our adoption promotion and supportservices program. Children's bureau is one of the largest private,nonprofit adoption agencies in california and one of the few that isnationally accredited by the child welfare league of america.
