Causes: Job Training
Mission: Chicago jobs council (cjc) pursues its mission through advocacy, applied research, public education and capacity- building initiatives focused on influencing the development or reform of public policies and programs. (continued on schedule o)from 18 original members, cjc has grown to include nearly 100 community-based organizations, civic groups, businesses and individuals. Cjc and its members are committed to helping disadvantaged individuals gain the education and training they need to enter the labor market, retain family supporting employment, and pursue sustainable careers.
Programs: Local programs: cjc's work both informs and is informed by the experience of the field. It recognizes that successful policy reform can only help low-skilled and disadvantaged workers if providers and other stakeholders on the ground have strong capacity.
public policy: improve the quality and accessibility of local and state workforce development systems in chicago and illinois and the capacity of providers within the system, to support disadvantaged job seekers and low-income workers in their pursuit of quality employment.
