Causes: Deaf & Hearing Impaired Centers, Disabilities, Human Services
Mission: To foster the education, social and service needs of the deaf community in the chicago area through meetings, deaf education, fundraising, social gatherings and other related activities.
Target demographics: deaf, hard-of-hearings, deafblind, CODA (Children of Deaf Adults), ASL signers, and anyone interested in learning Deaf culture.
Geographic areas served: Chicagoland
Programs: Swoboda Deaf Center (SDC) welcomes individuals within the Deaf community, encompassing those who are Hard-of-Hearing, DeafBlind, CODA, and ASL signers, as well as their families and friends. Our aim is to provide a convenient, comfortable, safe, and social environment. The Center offers access to a diverse range of programs, educational classes, workshops, events, cultural awareness, mental health education, and social activities suitable for all age groups.
