Mission: Chestor house provides unique services to those with cognitive disabilities.
Programs: The purpose of the chestor house boulder county guardianship pilot program is to provide funding for the appointment of guardians for boulder county residents through the boulder county district court when there is no other available source of funds. Payment is made by the court directly to guardians who are approved by the court. Guardians provide services to participants who are unable to meet their own needs without assistance. Services are extended primarly to developmentally diabled residents. Payment is made through the registry of the court rather than directly by chestor house itself. Every effort is made to make the program cost effective, and each case is reviewed at the end of one year and subsequently. The goal is to make use of existing funds in a way to benefit the highest number of participants. If the program is successful in boulder county, a cost benefit analysis will be completed to determine whether it is feasible to extend services throughout the state of colorado.
