A close friend of mine was diagnosed with prostate cancer over 6 years ago & was given about 6 months to live by his medical professional. Of course they wanted to start with chemo & radiation right away along with a plethora of meds but my friend refused. While he appreciated their years of medical training, he wanted an alternative & found Center for Advancement in Cancer Education. He spent time with Dr. Randy Shane discussing alternatives & food choices ect. Right now, almost 7 years later my friend is still here. I was so intrigued by this that I asked if I could speak with Dr. Shane. I wasn't feeling good at 50 years old & my blood work was off. My husband who is 54 had really bad numbers as well & we were concerned because his father passed at the age of 62 from heart disease. Dr. Shane took the time to speak with me & go over my issues & diet in such detail. I took so many notes & followed up with more research & became obsessed with my health & her knowledge. Long & short of this is that my husband & I switched our diets completely & now have had outstanding blood work & feel 100 xs better ever since. My husband's Doctor asked him what he was doing because he could never get the same results for his patients with medications. We are so impressed with The Center for Advancement, especially Dr. Shane. Since then I have been teaching others about changing their diet & becoming healthier at 50 then they ever were. I just can say enough about Dr. Shane's knowledge & her generosity. We are blessed to have found this facility & have referred many of our friends who are suffering with cancer.

Dr. Susan Silberstein and her Center was my life line soon after I was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer in 2004. Wanting others to experience the knowledge offered by the Center and its resources, I joined one of her first coaching classes. I have since been fortunate enough to share and educate women nationwide either before, as a preventative measure, during and after diagnosis. I have been able to pay it forward as I was able to be there for my 3 children, who through my experience, are now adults in service to others.

In January 2013 I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer (spread from uterus lining, and a bit into my liver). With coaching from the folks at BeatCancer, I totally changed 15 areas of my lifestyle and within 3 months, the cancer was undetectable. I am writing nearly 7 healthy years later. Areas: 1. Decide to live, 2. Surround self with positivity, 3. Meditate, 4. Move, 5. Focus on whole foods. Omit dairy, animal, processed, sweetened food, 6. Supplement as needed, 7. Drink 'clean' water, half weight in ounces, daily, 8. Get 7-8 restful sleep, 9. Live in gratitude, 10. Know your body has the innate purpose and power to heal itself, given a chance. Consider that cancer is not the enemy, but the body’s built-in defense system to save you from dying of acidosis (too much acid), 11. Cleanse internal body daily with lemon juice, periodically with method of your choice, i.e. herbs, colonics, 12. Generate negative ions to counter free radicals (acupuncture, massage, Biomat, moving water), 13. Laugh, have fun, listen to music, do something creative, hang out with friends, and enjoy life. 14. Accept that you are connected to the All-Powerful Source of Energy and Love known to many as God. Have faith all is well. Ask for your desires, be open to receive. Live in the moment; don’t regret your past or fear your future, 15. Get 20 minutes of daily sunshine for Vitamin D.

In sum: Toss out that ‘di-et’; begin your ‘live-it’ with organic, alkaline vegetables, green juices and smoothies, fruits, beans, nuts, seeds, coconut or almond milk, and plant-based protein powder.Add fresh lemon or lime to help alkalize food and water. I recommend getting a Spectracell blood test to check your body’s nutrient levels… If needed, supplement with antioxidants, enzymes, vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients, and probiotics...it’s well worth it.

To your health, the natural way.

I was given their booklets on foods that fight cancer and it was very helpful. They are now my short cut goto guideline regarding how to shop and eat and change my diet to help my body prevent a cancer recurrence. This simple information was never made available to me by any hospital. And certainly not even my nutritionist at Dana Farber. It is a mystery as to why these medical facilities fail to help their patients by educating them about how certain foods are known to fight cancers down to the sub type of cancer as highlighted in the booklets. I have since referred this web site to many friends who are newly diagnosed and fighting cancer. The bottom line: We should all be aware of these food as an ounce of prevention could save a life.

I was diagnosed with Lymphoma. I knew I was likely to be prescribed chemo or radiation which scared the hell out of me. So, upon a friends advice, I went to Beatcancer to see what they might suggest.
The counselor I was assigned to spent a good deal of time questioning me and came up with a plan. She completely changed my diet and even much of my lifestyle. Some of the changes were somewhat difficult to adjust to but I stuck with it. At the same time, I was under the care of top cancer doctors at Penn Medicine. Fortunately, After I pleaded my case, they agreed to schedule appointments to monitor my progress with BeatCancer and delayed any other treatment.
As it turned out, every visit to the doctors (each included a blood test) showed that the cancer was leaving my body. After a few years of monitoring, the tests showed I was cancer free.
My choice was change my lifestyle or live with drugs the rest of my life. Sometimes the choices were not easy but I am actively leading a healthy life and I am not in remission - I am cancer free.

I found Beatcancer.org after praying to find the right information. After a very scary doctor visit I desperately needed counseling about a procedure that I did not feel right about. I prayed and prayed to find the right counselor to help me. By divine guidance I found Beatcancer.org and with that organization I met Dr. Randi Shayne. Dr. Randi took me from feeling very vulnerable, scared, and boarding on despair to having a plan in that first session. She gave me a referral to an Epigenetic doctor--- just what I was looking for. Dr. Randi coached me on diet and life style changes. I lost a boat load of weight, I feel 10 years younger, and have never been healthier. I am now taking the second tier Beatcancer.org course for educators and speakers and I have learned so much about cancer prevention through nutrition and life style. Beatcancer.org did for me the impossible: it helped me with a real prevention plan, that focused on repairing my body and not on the symptoms, and they raise money to educate -with the ton of information already known. So that a person like me looking at all the different treatment options and all the different diets ---can be guided through and choose what is in my highest good. Beatcancer.org saved my life and gave me emotional strength. Skills that I will use for the rest of my life. Thank you Beatcancer.org and thank you Dr. Randi!

I first met Dr Susan Silberstein at a Juice Plus+ event. I had the privilege of speaking with her and found her so warm and caring. I began to read about her and check out her website. When I found out about her training and offer to become a certified Holistic Cancer Educator, I called her. She answered her phone, was so gracious and answered my questions.

I signed up and have learned so much from her and am so blessed to now be sharing her wisdom with others to guide and support them during their time of need.

I also had the opportunity to speak with one of the staff members, Nikki, and she was so kind and helpful.

Dr Silberstein and her staff are caring people and only want to help cancer patients and give them hope. Thank you for all you do. I am honored to be one of your ambassadors.

I was found with thyroid cancer in 2014 and was recommended to get my thyroid taken out. Since the node was very small and I prefer to use natural alternative methods I contacted Beat Cancer.org for counseling. A diet plan and the support given me has carried me in the right direction. I have added Juicing and a weekly coffee enema to assist me along with taking Juice Plus capsules and some supplements. The process of learning continues, but the Beat Cancer phone counseling support is valuable to me.

I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer a year ago. I had been using Juice Plus' vegetable and fruit capsules for many years as well as other practices to support my health, although stress and some poor habits were a negative factor I believe. I contacted Beat Cancer .org because I did not want to follow the conventional route whenever a wholistic approach is possible. I was assigned to naturalpathic doctor Randy with beatcancer. org for counseling by phone. She has been advising me and my wife Lois over this past many months. Her diet and life style advice is somewhat demanding, but I feel better as time goes on. Her encouragement helps us to stay the course although I need to be more compliant as I know I will be better off if I am. I incorporate other resources I have available and am optimistic that I will continue to enjoy many more year pass my coming 76th birthday. I think our sick society needs more of this approach to restore a healthy America.

A few years ago, I had a cancer scare and consulted by phone with Dr. Susan Silberstein. The time she spent speaking to me and advice was greatly appreciated. CACE offers a valuable service for individuals who don't wish to follow the traditional treatment route, and their focus on prevention and education is refreshing. Also, I have attended a couple of their educational events, which are reasonably priced. I wish they were a little closer to me now, but I still appreciate their work.

If you or a loved one have cancer, this is the one connection you should definitely make. It is the only place where you can get one-on-one counseling for free. When so many sites take advantage of people in their desperation, this is the only place that doesn't. I can't say enough good things about this organization. And not only is it free, but it deals with supporting your body and your immune system through lifestyle changes and natural means, because if your immune system doesn't survive, neither will you. This gets to the cause, rather than putting a band-aid on. There's no pressure to use or not use conventional treatment, but you get the advice you need regardless of how you are treating your cancer.

I found Dr. Silberstein's Cancer Coaching Course online. I am a cancer survivor and want to help others through the process.

Susan's dedication to cancer education for over 30 years is remarkable. While many organizations claim to be patient-oriented, this organization is. Coaching services are free of charge if the patient cant pay. Otherwise, it is on a donation basis.

The quality of the education and resources is very high, and geared towards patients - not doctors or health professionals. The organization not only educates patients, but empowers them!

I am very proud to be a Certified Cancer Coach and be associated with the Center for Advancement of Cancer Education.

When our youngest daughter was diagnosed with leukemia at age 4 I didn't know where to turn. We already ate organically and were focusing on a healthy lifestyle, but the toxic treatment of cancer left me reeling as a seemingly helpless mother of four with one very ill daughter. The center was an amazing resource and support as I had weekly nutritional counseling sessions to help our daughter improve her immune system during treatments. After two and a half years of treatment the center then helped connect me with a homeopath familiar with healing after chemotherapy. This center is one of a kind and they touched our lives at a very difficult time. You can see Maggie's end of chemo video on vimeo.com by searching "Congrats Maggie". I ran across Beatcancer.org while doing a google search. I was looking for a way to help one of my clients that was helping their grandchild go through cancer treatment. Even though I am an owner of Simply Healthy and Nurses Online Academy. I wasn't educationally qualified to give my client the information she needed on cancer care. So there I was, looking for information. I was so excited when I started looking over all that they had to offer. Even a "holistic cancer coaching certification"....which you guessed it...I quickly took and completed. What better way to be able to educate my client. I am forever thankful that I found such an upstanding non-profit and will always be supportive. They keep it personal and I like the feel of that. I can only imagine how it would feel to have them help me if I came to them because I had cancer. Dr. Susan Silberstein is an outstanding individual. She takes "caring" seriously. Beatcancer.org was my lifeline in 2010 when I found a 'lump' in my breast, and now cancer was up close and personal. I already knew the path I wasn't taking after watching my sister endure chemo/mastectomy, and another young friend pass from her leukemia treatments. I met Dr Silberstein at her booth at my first Juice Plus conference, 1 month after my discovery, and starting my holistic healing journey. I was assigned to Dr Randy, who helped me have the faith needed to stay the course with God's healing of plants, exercise, sunshine, water, attitude of gratitude, etc. I support beatcancer.org wholeheardedly, as they are making a difference directly with those seeking answers, whether they chose the allopathic/chemo route or completely holistic. I recommend them in my speaking engagements as a health advocate and 6 year cancer overcomer! NO chemo, radiation, surgery. They are my hero's !

I was diagnosed with Triple Negative breast cancer in May 2014. I went thru chemo, bilateral mastectomy and radiation for my treatment. As of today, I have no cancer in my body. When I got thru all of the treatment, I knew that I needed to do my part to ensure that cancer doesn't come back. I knew that my diet would have to change and that exercise needed to be a part of my everyday life. I got 30lbs. off of my body and adopted a good plant based diet and low fat meats. But knowing that our food sources/supplies are riddled with pesticides and so many hidden dangers left me hungry for more knowledge about what I was putting into my body. Beat Cancer has saved my life and thousands of others. Whenever I find out that a relative, friend or acquaintance has cancer, I do my best to get them in touch with the organization. Knowing too few will even give it a try and seeing all of the suffering and death simply out of fear, unwillingness and lack of knowledge - this is my greatest sadness.

The staff at BeatCancer.org are dedicated to providing the latest choices in avoiding cancer, recovering from cancer and dsealing with cancer. I became aware of the group when several of my friends were dying or in dire condition from the deadly disease. I now encourage my friends and family who have encounters with the disease to contact the professionals at CACE. They CAN help. The organization is also able to put on extremely enlightening and useful programs where corporations and organizations can gather their employees or staff for a presentation.

Although not a cancer patient myself I have certainly provided guidance for people who have dealt with cancer, including those who are part of a healing team. CACE provides guidance through education, and everything they have shared has been in line with what I have learned over the years. I can easily refer people to CACE without any concern that I will need to modify their suggestions.

I was searching to find a homeopath doctor to guide on how to use nutrition as medicine to prevent recurrence from cancer. It was starting to feel like a cost prohibitive endeavor- until I found Beat Cancer. The knowledge I gained from speaking with a homeopathic doctor each week empowered me to take steps to change my diet to become healthier. Now I can navigate my way through books and articles with confidence as well. Thank you!

I was lucky enough to receive personal training from Dr. Silberstein in 2011. It really helped to make sense of all the information and misinformation about cancer causes and treatments. I am able to give my clients much more individualized therapy sessions using the CACE model, and seeing very good results in terms of better quality of life. I recommend CACE to everyone I meet who is dealing with cancer, and I'm proud to say I'm a certified educator with CACE.

I was personally trained by Dr. Susan Silberstein to be a Beat Cancer Support Educator in the fall of 2011. I had met Dr. Susan previously, and was so impressed with her caring and compassion. I learned so much about all aspects of cancer - physical. emotional, and spiritual-- and her generous sharing of knowledge has really helped me in my own practice. The techniques for delving into the emotional causes of disease are especially helpful in my work, and also in maintaining my own health. I always recommend to my clients that if they want more information, they can call the Centre for help.

CACE was an incredible help to me and my family when my father was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer. The consultations they provided via one of their in-house experts on a regular basis had an incredible impact on my father's health thru his chemotherapy - and the guidance she provided to us on the impact of making immediate changes to his diet and the power of nutrition in fighting cancer was something we could not have found on our own. This was the worst experience of our lives and the help of the CACE team - primarily thru the one individual who counseled us throughout our fight - not only helped my father immeasurably but gave us all tremendous knowledge that we now pass out to others who must fight cancer themselves or with loved ones. We owe the Center for Advancement in Cancer Education a debt that we can not repay.

Dr. Susan and her team helped my sister-in-law beat stage 4 cancer, and not afterwards I was diagnosed with colo-rectal cancer. I chose to use both traditional medical treatment (radiation, chemo, and surgery) and alternative methods (nutrition, etc) and found Dr. Susan's information and guides to be very important in planning my attack on cancer. They were most generous of time and talent.

I don't have cancer, but I know a lot about it. That's what happens when someone you love, like my soul mate, gets cancer. It's a road you don't want to go down, but it is definitely one you don't want to travel without knowledge. BeatCancer.org and its Center for Advancement in Cancer Education is the first place I would turn if cancer ever inserts itself into my life again. Perhaps, I could have extended the life of my loved one with all the answers and compassion I would have found here that I didn't find elsewhere.

Research has not been the answer to cancer. Raising billions of dollars to keep organizations going does not cure cancer. If it did, it would have already happened. Education and prevention is the cure for cancer. This organization is the ONLY one I would contribute money to for the prevention of cancer.

Thank you for being there on the tough road when patients and caregivers need you. I hope to enroll in your Holistic Cancer Coaching program in the near future. That is the best and most heartfelt initiative I have ever seen in the fight against cancer. Ironically, without knowing about this organization and its mission, it is what I concluded was the number one thing missing from cancer patient care when I went through it personally with my soul mate. I wrote the following in my 2011 award-winning book titled "A Dose of Reality...Losing William to the Big Business of Cancer in America---"In the best of all worlds, it would be wonderful to be able to enlist the services of a knowledgeable, independent, and open-minded group of collaborative patient advocates for hire during such a stressful time."

It takes the pain of loss to be so forward thinking. Dr. Susan Silberstein has been there. So have I. She is now a light for others, as I hope to be with my book and as a coach on her team.

In the last 28 years i have served on over 15 boards. Most of the boards were daibetes related.
The board that stood out the most for me was Center for Advancement in Cancer Education or as we know it today www.BeatCancer.Org.
Cancer has touched my family in a big way in the last 2 decades.
It took both of my parents, my father in law and many others near and dear to my heart!
My involvement in the organization is very personal for me.
First of all in memory of the loved ones I lost.
But more importantly for the family and friends that may be touched by this disease.
If a family member or friend was touched by Cancer i would like their first stop to be at beat cancer.
Susan Silberstein and her staff in my eyes are gifts from GOD!!!!
I will not stop helping Beat Cancer spread their word until we BEAT CANCER!!!!
Susan, keep up your great and amazing work.
Thanks from the bottom of my heart.

I have been a supporter of CACE and a fan of Dr.Silbersteins for many years but never expected that I would ever need their services until may of this year when I was diagnosed with colon cancer. I was shocked and confused. Surgery needed to be done quickly because of a blockage and chemotherapy started 4 weeks later. I felt like I was being rushed into everything with no time to think or make any decisions about the treatment. I turned to CACE to help me sort it all out and am presently a client learning so much. I am now a student of juicing and learning to love drinking my green veggies which helps so much with the side effects of the chemotherapy. I am relearning how to eat and deal with the diagnosis. I am so greatful to have someone to talk to who is helping me put my life back in order to embrace life and not to dwell in the negative.

I had volunteered with organization and when I was diagnosed with sinus cancer I called Dr. Silberstein. She told me: If you aren't vegetarian become one, if you are taking juice plus triple your dose, I you aren't juicing begin and drink a quart a day to include spinach, kale, carrots ,and beet greens. I did all of these and I went through chemo, surgery and 75 treatments with radiation, feeling well the entire time. It's five years out, I still take juice plus, juice and TRY to be vegetarian and I still feel great. The Drs. at U of PA. were quite amazed, they had never seen that tumor disappear after chemo, only reduced. I believe this regimen enhanced the efficacy of the treatments. However, I received a wealth of information during a phone consultation with Susan, which I have used to make additional changes to my diet, even though it was pretty healthy to start. Despite all kinds of regular checkups by all kinds of doctors ovarian cancer stage three hit me at age 74 with my first indication of a problem a modest pain in my lower abdomen. Within three weeks of diagnosis I had to have major surgery and then chemotherapy. I was weak, scared, overwhelmed and clueless. I finally remembered that there was this amazing resource within a five minute drive of my house and called the Center. I was fortunate enough to be able to arrange a consultation with Susan Silberstein within a matter of several weeks.
She suggested a number of things to consider and how to manage the effects of the chemotherapy and I had two more follow up consultations in that first year. Susan was so knowledgeable, so kind, so practical, and so honest that I knew I gcould trust her and that gave me hope. It has taken time to implement all of her dietary suggestions, which I know are critical, but I do better all the time and I am so grateful for the resources the Center offers. The printed materials are invaluable and reasonably priced. My mother was diagnosed with an extremely agressive and rare form of brain cancer in 2006. Luckily she was well-versed in Susan's approach as she had been a volunteer at Beat Cancer for many years. My mom flipped roles from support person to client and began her work with Susan and her staff. I believe that without the Susan's knowledge, advice and insight my mom would not be here today. My mother's diagnosis was beyond grim. Chemo, double brain surgery, removal of part of her frontal lobe, a rebuilding of the brain's dura, etc.. This type of cancer had never been successfully treated without surgery.

My mother juiced, meditated, exercised, juiced some more, took supplements, the same ones that her oncologists said were anti-oxidants and therefore would lessen the effects of chemotherapy. Ha!

After the third chemotherapy treatment it was time to meet with the sino-nasal surgeon, the neurosurgeon, the anesthesiologists, etc. There was only a small window of time after chemo to perform the surgery because the cancer bounces back so quickly. This was the last meeting before my mom's 18 hour surgery which would take place within a few days time.

There were a dozen people in the room ready to plan the surgery. My mom's MRI was displayed on the screen. The nurse read the report. It was short. "There is no evidence of cancer." Silence. "I'm sorry. She has SNUC. Please double check that we have the correct image and report."

It was true. The cancer was gone. A mass in her sinus cavity, the size of a plum, was gone.

No surgeries needed. No frontal lobe removal. No rebuilding of the dura. No cutting through her skull and taking bone from her hip. None of it.

Susan's work should be awarded, applauded, funded and spread far and wide.

Life-changing? You bet.

Life-giving? Absolutely.

I was diagnosed with DCIS almost two years ago. As you might imagine--it was shocking. I never smoked, didn't drink, didn't live an immoral life. I began my cycle early at age 11 and entered menopause at age 50. I had no children, previously had Ovarian Cysts, Fibrocystic Breast, and twice had Endometriosis , so I knew my risks were high for getting Cancer. When I was diagnosed, I immediately changed my diet and went nearly 95% vegetarian, gave up sweets and started fresh juicing. At some point I hit a low and was depressed and felt out of control since my family was leaning toward Conventional treatments. Finally, in browsing the internet for help after meeting with oncologists, surgeons, etc., Randi (from Beat Cancer.org) came into my life. She was encouraging, uplifting and inspirational. She helped me with diet, exercise, supplements, emotions and confidence. I truly appreciated all her help and knowledge, she was warm and inviting. I've since referred others to this site and hope they will find similar support and delight. I looked forward to my weekly calls with Randi, and she often suggested that I take time for me, and let my other family members (who were adults) care for themselves--I needed this because I have always been a care-giver.

Thanks so very much for being available and offering your services freely (donations accepted). Much of what I learned, I've shared with others. Please keep up the good work. Cut, Burn and Poison is so detrimental to the mind, body and spirit. Cancer involves the entire person and must be treated "Whole-listically".

Respectfully supportive,

I hope his review is not too late to be included for 2012 Great NonProfits consideration. My father was diagnosed with advanced pancreatic cancer in 2008. The average lifespan is 5.5 months, and he was not a healthy man due to serious heart disease and diabetes, as well. We have a very close family and we were desperate to fight this disease, and were introduced to CACE by a friend. We had an initial consultation call with a patient support counselor and discussed the situation and what we might be able to do if we were willing to try to make changes immediately. She was an incredible wealth of knowledge on the subject of fighting cancer with nutrition, and made us aware of how diet and nutrition can have an amazingly strong effect on the ability of your immune system to fight both the cancer itself and also stand up to the terrible side effects of chemo and radiation along the way. Not only did she educate us thoroughly, and guide us with extensive recommendations, but she gave us hope, which is of vital significance to a cancer patient when they are fighting this disease. She really became our nutrition coach and a key member of our "team" in the fight. Most importantly, my dad trusted her and stayed strong, and had literally no side effects despite a non-stop series of chemo treatments for two years. We had many consultations, at least one every month via regular update calls for us to discuss my dad's status. She answered countless questions on all aspects of my dad's diet, his symptoms, and discussed any new ideas we may have come across related to the chemo, and the diet. My dad, and our family, came to depend on these calls as the months went by, and looked forward to them as a critical part of the treatment program. My dad lived for more than 2 years with this disease until his body finally gave out in 2011, and our CACE counselor was fully engaged with us every step of the way. I can not tell you how grateful we were for the guidance and support we received. I can not imagine that there is a better source of guidance and support from any organization in this country than what we received from CACE. I can not possibly recommend this organization and our specific counselor any more highly, and would encourage anyone who needs help fighting cancer to contact them.

CACE has changed, and possibly saved, my life. Last February I received a diagnosis of lymphoma from Mayo Clinic. To POSITIVELY confirm this diagnosis they wanted to biopsy an area of my brain that could have left me blind or paralyzed. I did not agree to this and asked if there was ANYTHING else I could do for myself. They said no.....that I would just have to continue having MRIs to check on my "abnormality". What an overwhelming and helpless feeling! Who is there to talk to? From a friend, I found beatcancer.org through CACE and began having weekly hour-long talks with Randi Shayne. Can you believe they do this??!! I felt genuine concern from her and her knowledge of cancer, the body, nutrition, coping, as well as any other topic was amazing. She filled me with information and offered advice without judgement. I completely changed my eating habits, exercise routine, and way of looking at things. What a gift to have an organization that makes it possible to talk to someone like her! This month, after my 6th MRI, they decided that I most likely DO NOT have lymphoma. I TOTALLY BELIEVE that my new lifestyle was instrumental in this. What if I had that biopsy and became handicapped? I tell everyone who is facing the scary world of cancer to contact beatcancer.org. As a Healthy Living Coach and someone who has lost both parents to cancer, I was so thrilled to find BeatCancer.org that I may refer those suffering or dealing with friend or family member. Because this organization's mission is key to helping people become educated in cancer prevention or recurrence. They offer lifestyle counseling and the support is like no other organization that I have ever known in my lifetime. After 35 years of operating as a not for profit donation based and still doing the work they do is monumental!

I recently completed my Masters in Nutrition with a focus on the connection between nutrition and cancer. People need to realize that not only is nutrition essential for prevention, the right nutrition is essential during cancer treatment. The Center for Advancement of Cancer Education provides education for professionals as well as providing direct services to cancer patients seeking nutrition alternatives or enhancements to their treatment therapies.

As a woman with breast cancer healing herself naturally I was very fortunate to discover beatcancer.org when I first got diagnosed and didn't know where to turn. Dr. Randi Shyane was devoted to speaking with me every week giving me valuable information, advice and encouragement. It's been over a year now and I feel fabulous. She continues to give me free consultations and I really look forward to speaking with her with each appointment. I feel like she's not only a consultant and doctor but also a friend. This organization is the only resource I know of that gives so freely their precious time and guides those of us who are scared and living with cancer with compassion, knowledge and love.

I went to a presentation with Dr Silberstein rather reluctantly, thinking that there wasn't anything she was going to say that was new, or that I hadn't already heard before. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that her information was not at all like that disseminated by the mainstream organizations, media, etc. It is nutrition/lifestyle based, and puts the emphasis on prevention, as it should be. Dr Silberstein was an amazingly caring person who is passionate about serving and helping people through the maze of misinformation. I was able to take home a number of printed materials to share with those I know and love.

CACE is, in my opinion, so far advanced & much more beneficial to the public when compared to other mainstream cancer organizations because they are actively teaching people how to PREVENT, COPE WITH & BEAT cancer....not merely bringing awareness to (who could possibly NOT be aware of cancer today?), detecting early (wouldn't it be better to learn how to prevent & reduce risks of getting cancer rather than needing to deal with it after the fact?) or looking for a pharmaceutical "cure" (billions raised for "research" & cancer is still on the rise??? Donations would be much better utilized if donated to organizations like CACE!) CACE is the ONLY organization I recommend to people who are suffering from cancer & who want to prevent it. In health talks that I give, I regularly share prevention methods I've learned from attending lectures given by Dr. Susan Silberstein. She & CACE have opened my eyes to the control I have over my own health & it is so empowering! I don't have to live in ignorance & fear & hope I'm one of the lucky ones. In turn, I share what I have learned with as many people as I can. Thank you Dr. Susan & CACE for all of your hard work & giving spirits! You truly are a GREAT non-profit!!!

I was diagnosed with Stage 4, Non-Hodgkin's B-Cell Lymphoma last year and contacted CACE to support me in combating the effects of Chemo and radiation treatment. I made the decision to do chemo and radiation since the cancer had already overwhelmed my immune system and was the most aggressive level (3). CACE provided me really great support on continuing in a diet rich in fruits and vegetables which I had already been on for 5 years and taking Juice Plus. The doctor was opposed to me taking any antioxidants but with my own research and support from CACE I was able to show him the benefits. Secondly recommendations made by CACE for coenzyme Q10, AHCC and other nutritional supplements allowed me to keep my immune system intact in spite of the effects of chemo and radiation. Many (most) of the people I met in treatment at the same time for various forms of cancer had to stop or curtail treatments as their immune system collapsed. I was always able to bounce back between treatments (every 3 weeks) by following the CACE recommendations as well as maintaining a pristine diet of fruits and vegetables. CACE, i.e. Dr. Susan Silberstien was both knowledgeable and compassionate. I sincerely thank her and CACE for their support. The Lord chose to heal me even though my situation was so dire but He was gracious in leading me to CACE and giving me the knowledge to d omy part in the healing process.

Hi My name is Cari Waldron, i am 47 and the mother of 10. In Jan of 2011, while pregnant with my 10th child, I was diagnosised with breast cancer. Having recently lost my father to leukemia who choose to do chemo, i knew this was not immediant option for me, and after seeing a breast specialist whose only option for me was a complete mastectomy with little regard to the affects that the surgery or drugs would do to my un-born baby, so i/ my husband decide pray and ask everyone we know to pray and to prepare my body for a battle 1st by changing my diet and adding nutrition. But even this would not be as easy as 1 would think, because i had to consider the health and well being of my un-born child. This was not something that conventional doctors could advise me in and certainly not something they were happy with. Knowing that food would be a good place to begin, both in elimating and adding, that is where we began. I heard about Juice Plus+ (nutrient dense whole food nutrition in capsule form)and immedientIy started taking it as well as representing it. it was through my Juice Plus business that i heard about C.A.C.E.. I was put in council with Dr. Randy Shane, who genuinely cared about me and the baby and our entire family and what we were going through, she was very informative, & was able to confirm all that i was doing as helpful and even had further suggestions always taking into consideration the well-being of the baby. Dr. Shane also highly suggested that I would nurse, that the hormone released during nursing possibly could affect the cancer in a positive way. So we nursed!!! (couldn't have done that if it had been removed!) I also had the pleasure of meeting the founder of C.A.C.E. Susan Silberstein, it was quite obvious her passion about helping those or family members of those who are battling cancer.
Our family has been blessed by this organization and are excited to report that God has used some or all of what we did to remove my tumor!!!!

"It changed my life" I called and it did the same for me. Dr Shayne heard my medical history and then started teaching me about nutrition and life habits. I hadn't thought of myself as a particularly bad eater. Just someone with a few indulgences. Dr Shayne taught me a whole ew way to think about eating. At first we spoke every week. After I understood the program, it became every month. I'm now two-and-a half years post surgery. I remain cancer free. In addition, I have come off of one of two hypertension medications completely. My readings are better than normal. My statin for cholesterol is now at 1/2 dosage. My panel is great. And all of this information and nurselings was free. I made a donation each year, but no one asked about it. They just gave me knowledge, compassion and support.

Susan Silberstein and her staff at CACE are the most devoted and helpful people that I have ever dealt with. My first encounter with Dr. Susan S. was at a Juice Plus lecture on Nutrition. In October 2009 – I was diagnosed with cancer. I have had four phone consultations with Dr. Susan Silberstein (each over an hour long). How many medical doctors give you more that 5 or 10 minutes and don’t remember anything about you. She was compassionate, caring and extremely knowledgeable. She taught me how to eat correctly to build up my immune system and explained the benefits of eating live foods. We talked about stress and attitude and exercise and supplements. She had many referrals to share. What inspired me the most was her no rush attitude on the phone and she remembered who I was and what I had told her about myself. How refreshing! She offers an alternative to regular forms of cancer treatment. How wonderful! Her service is strictly on a donation basis and I was not pushed to make a donation. She has been like an angel sent from heaven, come to my rescue. My thanks and gratitude are immeasurable. Kay Williams - Arizona

CACE has been there for my patients in need of direction, information, and hands on help to implement comlimentary medicine to support their bodies' healing. In the cancer field, many confuse the symptoms of cancer for the disease. The tumors are the symptoms. The process that allowed those growths in the first place is what needs to be addressed. We in alternative medicine know that if you only deal with the symptom, the tumor, the process that put it there continues unabated and creates more symptoms (tumors). Healing the process is what CACE is all about, and this is a very individualized experience because with cancer each patient has their own "process". I commend Susan Silberstein for her tireless efforts of over 30 years supporting the healings of thousands. Thank You CACE

This Organization (CACE) has made an incredibly strong and clear case for the notion that cancer is a malfunctioning PROCESS that gives rise to malignant tumor symptoms. And,as such, it urges us to respond to cancer by changing the environment within our body to prevent the PROCESS from prevailing. Accordingly,CACE places great emphasis on strengthening the immune system, and on nourishing the body with a high percentage of uncooked plant-based foods capable of creating a lot less acidic body chemistry and introducing much needed oxygen and digestive enzymes at the cellular level. This focus places greater emphasis on the cause of cancer instead of only responding to the effect.

Her suggestions for changes in order to move the body back to optimal health were very helpful. My patient will be forever grateful for this intervention. CACE never makes a patient pay when they are unable -- This is admirable work they are doing!

I work in the field of nutrition and have been involved with the center for many years. I have referred clients to the center where they have received tremendous help. I have been to many lectures and book review that the founder Susan has presented. All have been eye opening and very useful in everyday life.

I have been participating in and following the work of the Center for Advancement in Cancer for several decades. In the 1980s and 1990s i volunteered in various capacities and attended conferences for man, many years. CACE provides a unique and valuable service for the public. With no vested interests and having impartially followed and reviewed most treatment programs around the world for decades it is the most credible source I know for information and referrals for people when they may be inundated with confusing and biased information at a most stressful time in their lives. CACE is also very sensitive to respecting individual belief systems and needs in offering a range of approaches from complementary medicine to biological repair. The professional conferences I have attended over the years have been a very high quality with presentations by pioneers and leaders in the field, including my field of Psychoneuroimmunology. Their public events are very informative and give practical information people can use. The professional referrals I have collaborated with or used have been the top of the line, pioneer in their fields, creative scientists. I especially appreciate CACE's emphasis on nontoxic treatments, enhancing the effectiveness of treatments and reducing side effects of conventional approaches when necessary. I have referred loved ones with a cancer diagnosis for consultations and have sent materials to friends as well. It is great to have a resource that I trust 100% for quality of information, referrals and integrity. I have been saddened to observe the organization struggling so much financially when they are doing such valuable work. With more financial support CACE cold do much more good.

I have known Dr. Susan Silberstein, founder of C.A.S.E., for many years. When I became a Job Developer for Goodwill's SCSEP Program last year, one of the first people I contacted to help (C.A.S.E. now gets free office support) was Susan, because I don't know anyone who cares as much as she does about the work she does. And C.A.S.E. is seriously in need of funding and support. I have offered my services for free and hope that others will follow. Thank you Susan. You are one in a million!

Ms. Silberstein's book, "Hungry for Health" was just the start I needed to understand and get started with an organic, alkaline diet when I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer. Now, a year later, I am very clear that this diet, and the rest of the information I have gleaned from Center's website and publications, have played a central part in my being cancer-free as of my last CT scan.

Having a CACE counselor in my corner helped enable me to do the work to eliminate a 1.5" mass diagnosed as a cancerous tumor in my small intestine to disappear in 97 days. It first showed up in a March Petscan but was declared "no longer present" in one done June 2010 at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore
