Mission: In carrying out the social mission of the roman catholic church in the diocese of fresno the organization provides food, clothing, shelter, assistance and comfort to the poor in the central san joaquin valley.
Programs: Social services - the social service programs are available to those individuals who are either at or below the federal poverty income guidelines. The assistance provided through these programs is far reaching and diverse. During an initial intake with our guests, the intake specialist identifies areas of emergency crisis. These areas usually fall under the following service related categories: food, clothing, rent, shelter and utility assistance. In addition, the intake specialist can assist the guests with other local and state programs that they might not be aware of such as: dmv reduced id cards, cal fresh and pg&e care. senior companion program - the senior companion program provides senior companions (volunteer age 55 and over) who provide assistance and companionship to seniors who have difficulty with their daily living tasks. The service these companions provide help the weak and frail elderly live independently in their own homes instead of moving into institutional care. Eligible senior companions earn a small tax-free stipend to cover the cost of serving. They also receive reimbursement for transportation, an annual physical examination, and supplemental accident and liability coverage while they are serving.
