This organization strives to uplift children and families in severely underserved parts of our world. We have many underserved areas in Fresno County; yet nothing compares to parts of this world that have no government support and little support to uplift families. ISBHS strives to provide education, health care and more to severely underserved parts of our world. Basic shelter, food security and education can lift entire societies and individuals out of extreme poverty and hopelessness. To be born in a third world country is NOT a choice. I totally support efforts exemplified by ISBHS to provide "equal opportunities" to children and families to rise above their economic and societal limitations. As a Christian, it is my responsibility to support opportunities to those born in a country that may not have access to all of the privileges I enjoy in my lifetime. We need to uplift and offer love, support and opportunities. ISBHS does this and has my full support!
From late 2021 until the end of 2023, I served as a Field Officer with UNHCR in Gedaref. During my tenure in East Sudan, I worked closely with International Society For Better Health Access (ISBHA) to provide humanitarian assistance to Tigrayan refugees in and outside of camps.
ISBHA’s commitment to assisting refugees and Sudanese alike deserves particular praise. At the end of 2022, on their own initiative ISBHA stepped in to run a primary health centre in collaboration with the Ministry of Health in Hashaba, a village near the border with Ethiopia. They covered the basic health needs of over 3,000 refugees and a further 90,000 local Sudanese in the coverage area and provided referrals through UNHCR to the hospital in Gedaref for refugees requiring a greater level of medical care.
When war broke out in Khartoum in April 2023, banks closed, and supply pipelines were heavily disrupted. Despite the massive challenges, ISBHA managed to secure and distribute food to refugees and internally displaced Sudanese fleeing the conflict in Khartoum. They also provided medical care in sites where refugees had gathered near Gedaref and helped UNHCR organize their relocation to camps to access humanitarian services.
ISBHA should be very proud of all they have achieved to date, and I extend my sincere esteem to each and every one of the colleagues.
ISBHA has been there for people in need whether it be back in the motherland or at the refugee camps in various parts of Africa providing health care, education, and basic needs for countless hours over the years!!! If anyone has the ability to support, ISBHA should be the one choice! Thank you & God bless you for all that you do!!!
I’ve had the privilege of working with ISBHA for over two years, and in that time, I’ve witnessed an organization deeply committed to building infrastructures in resource-limited areas, empowering communities. This was evident during my time in a Sudanese refugee camp, where I volunteered as an English teacher in a school ISBHA helped establish. NGOs have a responsibility to create sustainable systems, and ISBHA is one of the few I’ve seen consistently achieve this, whether in Ethiopia or Sudan.
An amazing organization that meets people where it’s needed. It changed a life of unfortunate young kids. It’s great to know that donations go directly to help those in need.
I have witnessed the work of Dr. Teget Hailu and the team committed to helping those most vulnerable due to war and poverty. Shelter has been provided to the refugees, education of children and young girls. This education also puts a barrier between the girls and human trafficking. ISBHA is providing water to areas that have none! They have provided medical supplies for the wounded and those suffering medical crises.
I wish I had more money to support and honor this organization. Happy Anniversary - 20 years!
I know @ISBHA starting from 2023 & become a member of the association with monthly payment contributions. It is because ISBHA conducted a number of amazing humanitarian work for peoples in need; especially for people of Tigray in Ethiopia; mainly for refugees in Sudan @TENEDBA & @AYSHA refugee centers. In Sudan refugee facilities, ISBHA took a huge responsibility running the clinics & pharmacy that International Humanitarian Agencies abandoned & left when war broke in Sudan. The responsibility ranges from providing medical equipments & medicine to paying salary for the health professionals at those clinics & pharmacies. In addition, building local elementary schools & provide educational materials & paying small money to the teachers at those refugee centers
Recently ISBHA started a feeding & bed side assistance services for bedridden patients in Tigray, who are malnourished & couldn’t handle to go through the complex surgery they needed to survive. This program has helped a number of patients and most are now able to do the surgery after getting the necessary nutrition through ISBHA’s feeding program.
I encourage people to be a member and participate in this humanitarian activity by continuing monthly little pay ranging from $10 to $500 a month. Please become a member at https://isbha.com/subscription/
Thank you
As a Tigrayan myself, I can attest firsthand to the profound impact that the International Society for Better Health Access (ISBHA) has had on our community. My family, among countless others, has directly benefited from the organization's invaluable programs.
The healthcare assistance provided by ISBHA has been a lifeline during these challenging times. The medical essential supplies have helped to prevent the spread of diseases and ensure our families' well-being. Moreover, ISBHA's commitment to empowering Tigrayans to produce their own food has been instrumental in addressing the food crisis and restoring a sense of self-sufficiency.
I am particularly grateful for ISBHA's dedication to education. By providing educational opportunities for children and youth, the organization is investing in the future of Tigray. These young people are the hope of our community, and with access to education, they can break the cycle of poverty and build a brighter future.
ISBHA's work in Tigray is more than just humanitarian aid; it is a tangible expression of solidarity and compassion. The organization's commitment to addressing both immediate needs and long-term development goals is truly inspiring. I am proud to see a well-organized projects being done for the people in need and make tangible difference, and I would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Tigist for her vital role in bringing ISBHA's work to my attention. Her advocacy has made a significant difference in the lives of countless Tigrayans.
This organization benefits, the most vulnerable and disadvantage people in Tigray. The People ofTigray Survived genocide Ethnic cleansing, rape, and mass displacement by their own government Thanks for ISFBBA for stepping up and provide help
Sudan is grappling with severe instability due to conflict, economic crises, and political turmoil, displacing millions and leaving refugees and locals with limited access to basic needs. Amidst this, ISBHA provides crucial support through Health Programs that promote hygiene, Food Security Programs that empower households to grow food, and Educational Programs expanding opportunities for young refugees. They also focus on empowering women, particularly survivors of the Tigray genocide, and addressing energy shortages with solar-powered cooking solutions. ISBHA’s efforts are making a significant, lasting impact in these vulnerable communities.
ISBHA is a nonprofit organization with a proven track record of supporting those who lack access to healthcare, education, clean water, shelter, and other basic necessities. Recently, amidst the ongoing conflict in Ethiopia, the organization has shown incredible dedication by sending selfless volunteers to assist those who have sought refuge in neighboring country; Sudan. They have tirelessly raised funds for clothing, educational materials, medical supplies, food, and water, as well as created job opportunities to help sustain the futures of individuals affected by AIDS who face significant barriers to integration into society.
I am proud to be a donor to this organization and will continue to support its vital work.
ISBHA is an extremely committed nonprofit organization that is dedicated to improving the lives of people in North-East Africa through providing health care, education, and resources. It is obvious the team has incredible passion for their mission. Through gaining partners, the hard-work of volunteers, and donations they have be able to change the lives of many individuals. It goes without saying, the organization provides true transparency and utilizes every resource (people, funds, and connections) to make the greatest impact possible.
An organization from the people to the people. I really appreciate the enthusiasm and commitment of this organization in supporting the disadvantaged communities. Supporting this organization is supporting the people. I am grateful for those who are behind this organization.
The International Society For Better Health Access (ISBHA), based in Fresno, CA, has been making a significant impact in East Africa and beyond since 2004. This nonprofit organization focuses on creating sustainable solutions for communities lacking access to essential resources.
ISBHA's mission targets three critical areas: food security, healthcare, and education. By addressing these fundamental needs, they aim to foster long-term positive change in the lives of those they serve, particularly in eastern Africa.
What sets ISBHA apart is their commitment to sustainability. Rather than providing temporary relief, they work towards implementing lasting solutions that empower local communities. This approach ensures that the benefits of their programs continue long after their direct involvement ends.
The organization's nearly two decades of experience in the field speaks to their dedication and effectiveness. Their continued presence in the region suggests they've built strong relationships with local communities and have a deep understanding of the challenges they face.
For those looking to support a cause that addresses basic human needs and promotes sustainable development in underserved areas, ISBHA presents a compelling option. Their focused mission and long-standing presence in the region make them a noteworthy organization in the realm of international development and health access.
I have had the privilege of being a donor to ISBHA for the past 20 years. ISBHA has worked with children and impoverished villages and later with refugees in East Africa during this time. It is truly remarkable how ISBHA manages to enlist capable volunteers locally to implement its programs, allowing it to funnel over 98% of donations directly towards its projects. The projects are based on community identified needs which assures engagement, buy in and success after success on the ground. ISBHA has been “the little engine that could “ of nonprofits, committed to and realizing the betterment of the people whose lives it so greatly impacts. Please consider joining me as a donor to ISBHA!
