Mission: To break the silence that adversly affects the african american community with regard to
Programs: Survivor support this support group was established specifically to meet the emotional, physical, cultural and spiritual needs of african american women. This group continues to thrive and benefit women with breast cancer. New women are added to the group monthly and an average of 15 women attend monthly. We provide support services to 118 women directly. We offered "holdiday support" to 32 families during thanksgiving and christmas. We provided 26 women with financial support. Treatment. Our entertainment consisted of line dancers, which involved attendee participation.
advocacy & outreach we continue to foster partnerships with sutter cancer center and kaiser permanente, as well as with local cancer and community organizations to maximize our outreach. We participated in 42 commnity and school events.
awareness, education and screening awareness, education and screening remains among the top premiere services we provide. Providing community involvement and engagement activities such as the mlk keep the dream alive, the crocker art museum black history month, women's history month, mother's day and breast cancer awereness month,we were literally able to reach 40,000+.
