Mission: The foundation was formed to promote and support cardiovascular and thoracic surgery education along with clinical and basic science research for physicians, scientists, nurses and other medical personnel.
Programs: Csrf successfully completed research studies resulting in peer reviewed journal articles and abstracts published with the findings from an on-going clinical vad study along with presentation of a vad coordinator training course. Through the efforts of the csrf, data from clinical vad patients has been collected and analyzed for future use in research projects. Csrf supported the 4th annual louisville women's heart disease symposium which brought together over 100 health care professionals and community leaders to learn from the experts on how to treat women with heart disease and emerging technologies.
