Kentuckiana Stroke Association is fulfilling such an important mission! We have made strides in reducing stroke mortality but incidence is not decreasing. Stroke is the #1 cause of disability and is 80% preventable. Education to the public about how to control risk factors and prevent stroke is indispensable! We need more of this work in the community!

The Stroke Association provides a great resource for our community for stroke information. The association participates in many health fairs throughout the community and businesses to increase awareness about risk factors, signs and symptoms of stroke.
I have been serving on the Kentucky and So. IN Stroke Association Board since we started the chapter of NSA here. NSA was great to help get us started. We have continued to grow and continue to fulfill our mission to provide education regarding stroke risks, symptoms and prevention. I work with stroke patients every day in my job as a rehab social worker and know how important it is to educate our community, our state, and our region. KSISA will continue to strive to educate and assist those impacted by stroke.

This nonprofit does an exceptional job working with dedicated volunteers and only one full-time staff member, its executive director, who provides exemplary leadership that uses the organization's limited resources to their best advantage. No opportunity is ever missed to have representatives appear at community and organizational gatherings to provide information that will inform and educate. Led by a dynamic one-woman executive director, Carrie Orman, the Kentucky and Southern Indiana Stroke Association's outreach and effectiveness are even more astounding. She has the support of a cadre of volunteers and professionals who always answer her calls to rally in support of stoke education.

My daughter who now is 25 had a massive stroke at the age 11. It has been great getting information from Kentuckiana Stroke Assn, especially in those earlier days during her recovery.

We got involved with the KY and SI Stroke Association and have attended some of their events. This organization provides education and support for stroke survivors and caregivers as well as raising awareness about preventing and identifying stroke.
There is even a special group for younger stroke survivors.
The Stroke Association is a vital part of our community, going above and beyond in providing stroke education and awareness. The risk of having a Stroke is great for each of us, the Stroke association gives us the knowledge so more will take the appropriate steps to lower their risk of a stroke.
KSISA provides so much help to people regarding strokes and prevention of them. They have a great wealth of resources for those who have suffered stroke, and also for their families and caregivers. It’s a top notch non profit and we are very lucky to have its presence in our community.

As a stroke coordinator in Lexington this organization performs outreach, education and professional development for Kentucky and Southern Indiana. Kentucky has one of the highest mortality rates from stroke. This association's volunteers are vital to continuing to combat causes and disability from stroke.
