Mission: For Small Diverse Businesses: The CBA is dedicated to helping Camden’s business community thrive through advocating and facilitating growth opportunities for SMWVBE members. Our work includes fostering and developing business development/capacity-building resources, increasing business/financial literacy, and business innovation, and fostering relationships and collaboration with Camden’s corporations and anchor institutions to support local supplier diversity efforts. For Large Corporate Businesses/Anchor institutions: The CBA serves as a social and governance support arm for Camden’s anchor institutions, large corporations, city, and county agencies’ ESG efforts. We support our corporate members with community/stakeholder outreach and engagement, community benefits agreement development, local supplier diversity efforts, local purchasing initiatives, intentional collaboration, and the development of impactful strategic partnerships. We actively advocate at the city, county, and state levels for opportunities, support, and resources for the entire Camden-based business community. Vision: To be the leading business organization in the City of Camden by elevating and enabling Camden’s business leaders and community to cultivate and flourish in economic prosperity.
Results: Buy Camden Initiative / Local Purchasing Initiative: - Proposed and advocated for the "Buy Camden" ordinance now in effect for local business inclusion in the City of Camden - Created 1st citywide database listing of Camden-based businesses WeBuyCamden.com - Phase 2 of WeBuyCamden.com procurement and resource portal in beta for Dec 23/Jan 24 launch
