Mission: NHSC's mission is to renew pride, restore confidence, promote reinvestment and revitalize neighborhoods in partnership with residents, businesses and government. Since its conception in 1987, NHSC has focused on neighborhood revitalization primarily in the Lanning Square/Cooper Plaza historic district of Camden. NHSC has helped annually over 125 families reach home ownership. Its programs have stabilized the Cooper Plaza neighborhood through new construction, housing rehabilitation, new and fill-in construction, closing and down payment assistance, home repair, and community outreach. Our HUD-certified homebuyer education workshops, individual credit counseling, financial literacy seminars, and tailored mortgages through local lenders have assisted over 1,500 underserved families aqcquire homeownership in the Greater Camden area.
NHS is a waste of time. They spent weeks of prepping and telling you what they can assist with just to do nothing. In fact, the services are not specific to anyone’s needs just cookie cutter. The so called Director and underwriter who happen to be related are unprofessional. You can never get in contact with the two. It’s so sad
My $25,000 was well used. Penny pinching is a virtue at NHSCamden and the value of every cent is measured against its impact and positive outcome. I even added Good Search to donate while I am shopping.
I am very happy with their service. They were every professional, courteous, and efficient. I walked in to their office at the end of Jan 2013 and I'm now living in my own home, thanks to them!! =)
Time well spent fundraising. I hope the Camden Kids Preschool and Community Learning Center becomes a real green building in Camden City by 2015. It will become a hub that will positively impact the health, education, environment, wealth, and housing choices of Camdenian families.
