Mission: A non-profit organization that seeks to foster a supportive community of artists in denver by providing the opportunity for the development of unique voices, a diverse audience, and dynamic programming. The bug has approximately 10,000 people from the greater metro area and beyond who annually attend our film, theater, music, classes and other events.

The bug is an award winning organization that believes in the integrity of the artistic individual and the power of shared artistic experience through the performing arts. The objective is to continue producing and presenting thought-provoking, socially-relevant programming that incorporates a multitude of performance disciplines. The bpmac offers a diverse repertoire of programming ranging from original works created collaboratively by local artists to presenting beloved classics from the canon while also accessing topical works from contemporary playwrights. We are committed to serving our community by offering complimentary or significantly reduced ticket prices to students, seniors, educators, community groups, members of the military and those enduring financial hardship. Fundamental to the mission of the bug is a continuous development of diverse programming to serve out multi-faceted, multi cultural denver community. Ultimately, the bug strives to bring a new audience to the theatre and a new theatre to the audience. We offer a diverse mix of regular monthly programs that encompass the full range of artistic disciplines; theatre, music, children's programs, film, spoken work, sketch comedy, visual art and dance. We collaborate with many local artistic groups, forging relationships which introduces our work to an ever-widening demographic. The bug's emerging filmmakers project, the recipient of the mastermind award for excellence, offers monthly screenings and subsidized workshops featuring films, lectures and talk backed by regional filmmakers. The project brings 1,100-1,200 people to the theater annually. Our wildly successful open stage event, freak train, gives access to the bug stage to the general public each month, providing an opportunity for individuals to get on stage regardless of experience, and perform their work in front of a live audience. The programming has been called "denver's best bet and best-kept theatrical secret". The series draws standing room only crowds with an average of 160-180 in attendance per show, for a total of approximately 1,900 patrons each year.
