Mission: The historic buffalo botanical gardens is a living museum that inspires curiosity and connects people to the natural world and is a premier cultural destination that engages visitors through a distinct and unique plant collection.
Programs: The buffalo and erie county botanical gardens is a national historic site, education center and tourist destination. Its conservatory is home to over 20,000 exotic horticultural treasures from around the world. Maintaining the building and collection is the gardens' first priority. In order to accomplish this and uphold its mission, the gardens provides educational and entertaining experiences to the public by offering enriching educational programs and creating unique flower shows and exhibits. The gardens strives to preserve the 100+ year old building while helping the public to embrace the harmony between people and plants, leaving visitors with uplifted spirits. During 2017 the gardens welcomed a total of over 82,750 visitors -- this included 20,000 students and adults for educational programs, 10,000 for a wide variety of special events and 5,700 for private events and weddings.
