In doing so, we honor the legacy of those who came before us on this land and champion a region where people will care about and for nature.

Programs: At Ease: Nature & Art for Veterans Brushwood Center’s At Ease program is an innovative approach to empower military veterans’ wellbeing through a series of nature-based art and photography workshops. It's A WIN Through partnerships with youth, families, and community partners in Waukegan, North Chicago, Round Lake and Highwood we work to increase equitable access to the many health benefits of nature, strengthen environmental awareness and action, and cultivate rich cultural connections to the natural world. Brushwood Art Supply Exchange (BASE) BASE is a creative reuse center where your unwanted art and craft supplies can find new life. We provide materials, tools and education at very low-cost to the public, and free to educators and community partners. Come to donate, shop, or learn something new at our workshops and special events. You can even schedule a private BASE class for your group or party! From professionals and educators to students, families and the simply craft-curious, we want everyone to have a chance to get creative.
