I was blessed to be able to sit on the Board of Directors for Brighton Center and learned so much about their programs and what they were doing for the children and their families. It is an amazing organization that sees every child with the ability to accomplish anything they choose to do no matter what their current situation may be. The entire team is dedicated to the success of these children and their families.

For the last 5 years I have donated to Brighton Center because they are the best in San Antonio at helping kiddos with developmental delays and disabilities. After 20+ years working in the nonprofit field I joined their team and have witnessed first hand the compassionate, holistic, and personalized approach they/we take with each family.

The Brighton Center has been part of my family's life for over 4 years. While my daughter has not benefitted directly from each of the services provided by the center we are reminded each day of the children and familiies Brighton affects. My daughter has never known that there is a child with a disability or that one child is getting any more assistance than the other. She has learned a lifetime lesson in her first four years at Brighton. That every child is as equal and independantly different from the next without so much as a care of what those differences are. Imagine as the children that are a part of Brighton grow and continue to spread that lesson into not just the local environment and social network they belong to but their friends, families and children. While as adults we can say that one child does need a little more attention or that one child needs a little more help than the next, the children at Brighton are learning through the environement and staff that the child to the left and the right are a part of their social network and not any less important than themselves. Brighton offers many programs not only geared toward the children they are trying to help but for their families as well. That is one of the best benefits that Brighton offers. Not only can a child with a need be served through Brighton but the family as well. It is a life changing moment that brings families to Brighon or Brighton to the families but more than just assistance Brighton offers them hope, caring, understanding, education and every bit of it is 100% from their hearts.

The Brighton Center provided valuable services to my 3 year old in our home. We were concerned with a delay in his speech, and thankfully we were recommended to the Brighton Center. We had a very compassionate speech therapist come to our house and evaluate our son. She spent well over 2 hours with he and I and put our minds at ease. She provided us with helpful ways to encourage his speech and with useful handouts and resources. Luckily, a few months later we had a "chatter box" in the house....our son had the gift of gab. Thanks to the staff at the Brighton Center, especially our speech therapist, we found their services to be invaluable. We have recommended their many services to many more families. Keep up the great work!!

My first experience with Brighton was about 7 years ago working on the Taste of the Northside. At that time the event was very small and not well known, but through the years it has expanded to one of the largest Fiesta events. I am now involved in the Fundraising Committee and have enjoyed the team there tremendously. You can feel the compassion from the team members each time you walk through the doors of the Brighton Center.

I've been apart of Brighton for five years. In that time I've have seen the impact the organiization has had to thousands of children in our community. Through in-home services through the Early Childhood Intervention program and classroom education at Bright Beginning to child advocacy and parent education, the Brighton Center has real reach and real impact to our community's child development.

It is a well run organization top to bottom, creating an efficient administration allowing maximum services to the children.

When I became a Brighton family back in 2004 I was given something: hope. Hope, support, and commitment define Brighton. There is no place like this. Because of the staff, and how I have been supported, I am able to in turn support my children-specifically two who have disabilities. For this reason, Brighton is a place I always want to find some way of giving back to.

I was introduced to Brighton about four years ago and right from the beginning I knew this was a great organization. The whole staff from Kim Jefferies, Shae, Amy, Isai and many more all have one mission and that is to help these great kids. I'm sure they have bad days just like rest of us but you would never know. They always have a smile on their face and you can tell that what they do is not just a job. These people are making a difference in these kids lives and it has been such an honor to have been on the board for two years. You could not ask for a better school or staff to have an impact on these wonderful kids.

I don't even know where to begin with a "review" for Brighton... Awesome, spectacular, caring, compassionate are only a few of the adjectives that first come to mind when thinking about the staff. Everyone at Brighton truly cares about making a difference in the lives of the children and parents they serve. Not a day goes by that I'm not mesmerized by the attention that everyone in the organization pays to ensure that the best interest of the families being served are front and center. The selfless, helping, giving attitude is contageous... From the executive director to each and every team member, the desire to help those in need is clear.

If you don't know much about this fantastic organization, and haven't had a chance to experience first-hand what Brighton does for our community, I would highly recommend you looking into it... www.brightonsa.org

The Brighton spirit is contageous... You too will be an advocate if you experience it!

I have known about the Brighton Center for over 10 years now and am in awe of their growth and success over these years. They use to be housed in a neighborhood, in an old home that was turned into an office and a daycare center. They then moved to a building, which use to be a church and have recently bought this building! They have helped so many, countless children over the years through their diligent service and overall love for ALL children. I have volunteered at their Taste of Northside event since the first year it began. It is a wonderful event that has grown over the years into a huge official Fiesta event. Everyone that attends the event has a wonderful time and has only great things to say about Brighton and their staff! I am proud to be a supporter of this wonderful organization!

I have known of and have been involved with Brighton for over 10 years. in that time I have seen it grow tremendously in size, programs offered, and excellence. It is a very well ran and managed non-profit that is always focused on its core mission, the children. Brighton has also shown strength as an organization in the past 2 to 3 years by growing and increasing fund raising in a very tough economy where many other non-profits have struggled.

I am in awe of everyone at the Brighton School and how they understand the challenges of serving children with developmental delays. Brighton provides a refreshing and innovative environment for the parents of and children with special needs. Everyday Brighton inspires children and parents through their many community and developmental programs & they are empowered by Brighton's many resources and inclusive community culture.

My daughter Kathryn was born with down syndrome. She is now 21 years old. I do not know what I would have done without Brighton School's help. Kathryn began receiving services from Brighton when she was three weeks old. Without the Early Childhood Intervention, I believe Kathryn would not have thrived, like she did. Not only did Brighton work with her, they provided family counceling, emotional support from other parents, educational resorces and most important... hope. Brighton School changed my life as well as Kathryns. I will never forget the great staff or the School!

I am currently the Past Chairman of the Board at Brighton and I can tell you from my 10 years on that board that the phenominal job that is being done and has been done for years is greatly due the leadership of Kim Jefferies ( Executive Director) and Isai Sapien ( Chief Financial Officer). These individuals are as quality as they come. Obviously, they could not do it alone, which speaks volumes of their skills. I am blessed to have had a chance to be involved in this well run organization and wish nothing but continued success in the the future.
