Programs: With over 550 members, bhctexas unites the texas breast healthcommunity to educate, advocate, navigate, and maximize resources. Bhctexas educates through bi-monthly meetings, e-newsletters, socialmedia, a website, webinars and the annual breast health summit, theonly annual conference dedicated to improving breast health care forthe medically underserved in texas. Bhctexas navigates through directpatient navigation programs with clinical partnerships to reduce theafrican american no-show rate for breast cancer screenings, and since2010, supports the houston community college (hcc), coleman college forhealth sciences community health worker (chw) certificate programoriginally funded by the houston affiliate of the susan g komen for thecure with an emphasis on breast health patient navigation.
