Mission: Bootstrap America was formed to help alleviate poverty in geographically targeted communities by making small loans of $1000 or less, at little or no interest, to individuals who will create a small retail or service business. We train business mentors who, in turn, train the new business owner in sound business practices, marketing, etc. Bootstrap America creates an atmosphere where an idea is articulated, a small loan is made and that idea gives birth to a small business. An entrepreneur is born and, with mentoring, builds a successful, sustainable business in their economically disadvantaged community.
