Here is a place that has an amazing cause. The Mission is great. The members are amazing. However, the President and a few of his safety net board member care more about running a business that further their religious interest than they are about being in the business of caring for people. Staff that are not members of their church is paid disproportionate to the staff that are hand picked from their churches and communities. You have members who are also employees that are used for grant purposes and for the appearance of stewardship when most of them are not being cared for and being overlooked in favor of those that protect Cory Nelson's religious influenced leadership. This is suppose to be an organization for the Blind of all races and denominations however, the president will woo you with numbers and how much funds they have managed to stock pile, but will never tell you that he will let the member eat pasta noodles and ketchup because he refused to give the cook money to buy proper sauce. Or that he would let a visually impaired employee who lost his disability because of working for the organization get shuffled around in a housing crisis with no money to eat or feed his pet. Yet, will turn around and spend thousands of dollars on a music instrument for one of his favored band members. Please help these visually impaired people by getting to know them and what they would benefit from as oppose to letting your donations go in a direction that offer an appearance of aspirations and greatness. Know where your donation is going! you have the right to know. Sad. but true. I am writing this on behalf of many member who are afraid to speak out or have no voice. I honor you all.
