Causes: Big Brothers & Big Sisters, Children & Youth
Mission: Our mission is to help all children reach their potential through professional support, one to one mentoring relationships with measurable impact. The goal for all customers is to provide their inclusion in the larger community and to broaden their experiences, and thus, competencies relating to their community, peers and adults. This goal is achieved by "matching" children with a caring adult mentor, screened and supervised by our agency. Mentors commit to a minimum of one year volunteer service with an agreement that they will spend consistent time with customers in our program. . We also support site-based activities at area colleges, schools and other meeting places, where the committment from volunteers can be as little as an hour a week or whatever the site-based volunteer would want to give. Our customers are from albany, schenectady and rensselaer counties. Our vision is successful mentoring relationships for all children who need and want them, contributing to brighter futures,
