Mission: The missions of bethany counseling ministry are to provide counseling to children, youth and families as well as supporting pa northeast, pa southeast, and pa central conferences of the united church of christ in developing and conducting programs of family enrichment.
Programs: Bethany counseling ministry provides counseling, educational and consultation services. With office space provided by 40 churches in 3 conferences, bethany counseling ministry is able to extend its services to over 35 counties. The ministry also provides supervision for social work, pastoral counseling, marriage and family therapy. Fees are based on a sliding scale; however no one is denied counseling. Bethany counseling ministry is served by 2 full-time directors who provide counseling to girls and boys (and their families) who are entering, residing in, or leaving bethany home, inc. , a related entity. These directors also provide marriage and family counseling, offer education programs on family-life topics through workshops and seminars, and serve as a resource person to united church of christ staff and their families concerned with improving daily life. In addition to our directors we have over a dozen contract therapists who also provide counseling. All of our contract therapists hold a masters degree or doctorate in counseling or a related field. During fiscal year july 2013 through october 2013, bethany counseling ministry provided 292 sessions. Funding to bethany counseling ministry is derived from fees for service and an operating grant from bethany childrens home, a related entity. Operations for the organization ceased in october 2013.
