Mission: The berkeley zen center is a place where people practice zazen (meditation) together daily, with the support of the zen center community, under the guidance of the abbot.
Programs: Residential training: this program provides a structured environment for approximately 10 zen students, who live on the premises and follow a schedule of religious activities.
retreats: the zen center conducts a 1-7 day retreat each month, which includes 10 hours of silent meditation. 25-30 people attend. Fees are collected. Meals are provided.
daily meditation schedule offerered to the public, morning and afternnon, monday through friday and saturday morning program of meditation and lecture.
