Mission: Bamboo Cross International was begun in 1980 to assist refugees from Southeast Asia, particularly Vietnam, because of the exodus after the communists took over that area. In 1986 when the first large group of Montagnard refugees came to North Carolina, the organization moved to Greensboro, NC to support these families. Since that time, we have assisted the refugees in starting churches in Raleigh, Greensboro, and Charlotte, helped obtain affordable housing and jobs, begun ESL classes, and other many methods of support. We also record gospel radio broadcasts back into Vietnam in one of the tribal languages, and send pastor training material to native pastors. Our desire is to support the large Christian community of Montagnards, either here in the U.S., or in the homeland of the Central Highlands of Vietnam.
