Mission: Amsus advances the knowledge of federal healthcare and increases the effectiviness and efficiency of its membership my mutual association and by the consideration of matters pertaining to constituent services both in peace and war. Amsus is dedicated to the fulfillment of the following purposes: improve the effectiveness, cohesiveness and esprit de corps of the federal healthcare service. Improve healthcare by providing a forum for discussion of ideas and whether on a local, national, or international level and by providing continuing education for its members. Contribute to the improvement of healthcare in the nation through policy study and recommendations. Represent the association to the executive and legislative branches, to national professional organizations and to the public.
Programs: Annual convention:provide an annual meeting to provide continuing education credits through educational sessions, panel discussions, scientific papers, scientific and technical exhibits and provide opportunities for networking. Emphasis is placed on improving federal medicine by utilizing health information to identify strategies that enhance patient care and treatment; identify healthcare support, techniques and technology. Emphasis is on educational value and awarding of continuing education.
publications:produce a monthly journal featuring peer-reviewed scientific papers, case reports, and editorials, including international submissions. First published in 1892 as the military surgeon, military medicine is a valuable educational and informational resource for amsus members as well as other federal health professionals.
membership:provide a forum for members to learn about and discuss the delivery of healthcare in a federal environment through membership.
education: programs to foster research and study in ways to enhance the practice and methodology of healthcare in the federal arena.
