Causes: Arts & Culture, Arts & Humanities Councils & Agencies
Mission: Founded in 1985, ACSBCo has seen a growth in programs and successes over the last several years. Guided by an NEA funded County Cultural Plan, the Arts Council seeks to make the visual and performing arts accessible to all who work and live in San Bernardino County. ACSBCo's arts education programs, which place artists in local schools to ensure quality arts education, have grown each year and now reach more than 4,500 students. Involvement with a teen pregnancy prevention program utilizing arts and education and the Title IX Indian Education program round out our commitment to arts education. Our juried exhibitions recognize and reward local artists and help those artists gain wider recognition in larger shows. Our free performance series provides families the opportunity to create and explore various arts disciplines. Our technical assistance programs support artists and other arts organizations within the County through specialized workshops and re-granting. Our resource directories,calendar, newsletter, website, and arts advocacy activities serve as a vital resource for the development of a more active and enriching arts and culture community in San Bernardino County.
